Pain Creams

To those who are doing well with compound creams. What next for you when this goes away? I have heard talks of legal medical marijuana distribution and fracking. Sounds shady but any info?

Money is still good but seeing lower reimbursement. It was good while it lasted. Paid for a lake house so it was worth it. My manager even got a few points for bringing me on to the company. Good deal for her too.

[you are not only jealous, but u r semi retarded. This is is for tricare and pharmacies that don't get the new credentialling. Thank u idiot st. Jude manager who knows nothing about compounding,?but please preaching soon and gloom so I can collect my big checks

Actually I run sales for a compounding company. This is not Tricare. Tricare will probably continue for a while. The House of Representatives passed a bill that compounding was embedded in that must go to the Senate. ESI of course processes Tricare. This is for all pharmacies. But this announcement where you called me a 'r*****' about has nothing to do with recredentialing. Those pharmacies that do not receive their recredentialing will not longer be an ESI provider.

Further ESI is elminating certain compounds from employer based plans with an automatic enrollment.

Catamaran another PBM just announced discontinuation of covering compounds.

Prior authorizations are up a TON. This really slows things down.

If you think this is going to continue forever you are the IDIOT. I'm saving my dough. I'm hoping I have another 6 months left before we have to change our business model considerably.

MORE ESI STUFF. AUTOMATIC ENROLLMENT IN THE PROGRAM THAT LIMITS WHAT COMPOUNDS ARE COVERED FOR EMPLOYER PLANS. THIS WAS ANNOUNCED 6/14.

Express Scripts to Launch New Compound Management Solution.

Express Scripts is excited to announce the launch of a new solution to address the rapidly changing landscape of compound prescriptions. The solution allows Express Scripts to evaluate every ingredient in a compound and will manage a comprehensive list of compound ingredients to exclude on your behalf. This offering aims to cover medications that are clinically acceptable and reasonably priced. (CANT YOU READ BETWEEN THE LINES HERE...ESI IS GOING TO LIMIT COMPOUNDS THEY BELIEVE ARE PRICED TOO HIGH!..)

Under this offering, if any ingredient in the prescribed compound is on the list of excluded ingredients, the compound will not be covered. Express Scripts will monitor compound ingredient prices on your behalf (NO MORE $3,000-$5,000 EOBs), and if any ingredients increase outside of market-acceptable ranges, those ingredients will be excluded as soon as reasonably possible.

Still plenty of dough to be made. There will be a compromise with Express Scripts as lobbyists working on it now. Just won't be for $3500. Just save your money, the sky is not falling. I've been hearing that about compounding for the last year and a half.

Just got my first check, $6200, not bad for one dr. writing a few scripts a week. Should be 10k this month due to refills. Hope this keeps going so my wife can quit her job. Heard of people making 100k/month.

Do any of you worry about your W2 employer noticing that you have a second job? I don't know how they would do that but I have always thought they could figure that out pretty easily. I would be more courageous to do this if I knew what info my employer had access to. Congrats on the big money!

EXPRESS SCRIPTS

Express Scripts, Inc. (ESI) has announced that they will stop coverage of 1,000 products (APIs and non-APIs) used in compounding. We believe that this may affect about 720,000 patients across the country and targets employers for which ESI is the primary pharmacy benefits manager or PBM. Employers will automatically be opted into the program.

This webinar will review the ESI program and proposed roll out. We'll discuss PCCA's state, federal and legal strategies. We'll also review PCCA member tools and what you can do to combat the ESI program roll out. Then we'll wrap up with a member Q&A.

This is not over by a long shot. Still plenty of money to be made in this business and still plenty of patients to help by offering non addictive pain management solutions

50% to 55% payout of adjudicated amount /weekly pay

Do you really think you are gonna reel in any serious compound reps. Nobody is that stupid, every pharmacy trying to get into
The action by offering high commissions but have absolutely no idea what they are doing. Don't think u will find any suckers here. I'm happy with my big national pharmacy making 20% and throwing 75k a month in my pocket.

75k? I need some of that. I doubt we're in the same territory/location, so please share.

so let me get this right. You make $900,000 a year selling pain creams and you still hold down another job? Cmon folks, don't encourage losers like this by responding to these ludicrous posts and then humiliating yourself and asking how you can get in for yourselves!

Nope, totally true, know many reps that were making 80 to one guy making 130k a month. It's way too late now. Express scripts and competition killing the business. Great while it lasted and made many many millionaires. Don't even bother trying it now.the smart ones made their cash, paid off their houses and kept there jobs because they knew it wouldn't last

Nice try buddy. The pharmacies are nothing without us reps sending them business. Why are they making all the money. What's the cost to make the cream? Why are you only getting 20%? So your sending them 375k a month, they pay you 75k,cost them 40ish, they make 260k a month off your back. Looks like they found the sucker

Agreed, don't think creams are done for good just a little healthy adjustment in the industry. This will shake out all the weak hands that have no business in the compound business.
Just stick with PCAB cert pharmacies (only less then 3% are) when it comes to compounding and you will be fine. Even if less then half are being adjudicated it's still good money. If you are working with good doctors they will understand the higher per authorization required by payor.
Please keep in mind that the pharmacies can't make anything near what they make without us Reps. The landscape has changed for sure. The 20% commission days were fine when it was like shooting fish in a barrel. Not the case today. It's your relationship with doctors that took years to develop. Remember you are as good as you last script with any pharmacy our doing business with. Smarten up
