Ozurdex

How is this product selling? Is it more like a pharma job or are you closing deals with the dr in the office?

Sales have been slower than expected however the product is finding a place for many Retina Specialists.

This is not at all like pharma, not even close. Toughest sell I have ever had however can be rewarding (when I am not freaking out)...

We cant give it away and the managers suck ass. No fucking clue how to sell this pig. I have a friend that called me about the Phoenix position and told her about that hillbilly queen ryan and what a loser he is.

The real problem here is Triamcinalone. It costs $5/vial from which you can inject multiple patients. The injection lasts about 6 months. Even though it is an off-label use it has been around now for years and these guys (like any other ophtha practitioner) about their bottom line. It is also the standard of care in this market. This is why unpreserved triamcinalone will never sell well whether we make it or Alcon. Some of these accounts buy a thousand vials of triamcinalone at once to save about $1/vial. There has been very little uptake or interest in my area. The financial aspects of this product put me at a real loss. The other thing that is very concerning is that only a few of my accounts have come forward with the financial impact issue. Most just smile and make you think they will adopt but the numbers show they have no intention of doing so.

How are most account managers doing in this position? How do compete with the anti VEGF? What are most reps making w /bonus? I was told average was $150...

most make nothing goals are fucked. Oz is dying a death of a thousand cuts. We really are at a lost on how to market it. 1300 is a lot and avastin is killing us. I heard in Chicago that we might look to to sell the brand outright.

Could not be farther from the truth. Goals are very fair and obtainable. To the contrary, Oz sales are increasing and with the new indication it is selling better then ever. The marketing is very good. This idiot talks about what a dead end drug it is yet he heard in Chicago that its for sale...huh? I'm killing it on my bonus plan. Lot's of money to be made.

Go back to telemarketing dude. Jealousy is an ugly emotion.

Its a revolving door. Isnt it? There isnt a plan in place to compete against avastin or the other Vegfs. Our price kills us and the SAMs arnt makeing money. Oh yeah and the managers suck.

Out of the 20 account managers how many are at plan? If Allergan doesn't have a response to avastin how do you position it? Is Triamcinalone standard of care for uveitis treatment?

Oh, Please. We can guess who posted this. Everyone knows what people are doing to get sales. Unless you have clinical investigators or had super-salesman Manager work your territory, you are resorting to inappropriate reimbursement discussions. Yeah, congrats on uveitis. You think this indication is going to convince specialists to use it for RVO? Good luck convincing your customers that Ozurdex is better, safer, and cheaper than an anti-Vgf, super-fantastic Ozurdex rep. You make Allergan proud!

How many Oz positions are still open? We cannot give away this shit gig.

Some people want relationships with strippers.

Honestly, if you want to wet your beak on the oz mess ask some of the B&L folks about retisert. Same indication, alot more expensive, and the same microscopic market. Aside from the fact that the percent of uveitis treated with anything other than topical is a few hundred cases a year in the entire US (don't believe the marketers that believe there are thousands of these patients out there); no one wants to be personally exposed to the cost of this thing. The insurance companies will slow or no pay to burn the docs and they know it as they have gone through it already with Lucentis vs. Avastin. This was really poorly thought out by the strategic marketing and development folks and now they will have it cost some of us our jobs as a result.

Aside from the idiot in marketing projecting sales, the biggest blind spot right now is senior mgmt. With the entire team desperate for sales everyone is running around selling o/l or mktg the spread. For what 10M? Helloooo...Can anyone say corp integ agmt. This is just stupid. Greed is good..Welcome to agn

Dude...you need to relax. Did Allergan hurt your puppy or something? Why are you still researching the Allergan boards? You can't sell, you got fired, move on. I'm having no problems convinving my customers, but I know how to sell....big difference. Happy Day.

No kidding! How funny is that. I love that upper management gets on here and posts the kool aid comments.

Just picture the giant pitcher of kool aid bursting through the doors...

ohhhhhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhhh.

Get real. This drug is a joke. Nobody with a brain goes for it. The SAM's with a brain ran for the border a long time ago.
