Over 40% of Biogen jobs eliminated in last 36 months

Are you saying there are no good hires from DEI. DEI gave people with merit a chance to at least be seen. Now we are going back to our old ways of if they aren't white its probably not right.

There are likely very few good hires "from dei". If you target dei which biogen hr has for a decade, you likely find little merit. If you target merit, you often find yourself with diversity too.

"From dei" is the downfall here. It polluted the environment and Biogen ended up with leadership tied to dei oaths. That leadership and those oaths drove out the merit.

Even before DEI quotas was implemented merit based hiring was never a thing. Most people were hired because of someone they know, or went to the same school as them, or “reminds them of themselves”. You can cry all you want that DEI ruined hiring but it just allowed more diverse candidate pool.

So you doubled down on two paths to let the idiots in. One of which was forced by hr and contaminated the whole company. I don't think that is quite the win you think it is. Enjoy biogens decay.

who was looking for a win? I was just pointing out merit based hiring isn’t really a thing. A common argument against DEI is “we need to get back to merit based hiring”. You can’t get back to something that didn’t exist before.

And this isn’t a Biogen specific problem, it’s everywhere. No one is defending the company

Merit hiring does exist. Boys/girls/fraternity/sorority/northeastern club hiring does exist. Dei hiring does exist. The latter two crowd out the first. HR became just an advocate of the dei hiring. Merit was further diminished and when it fell below critical mass then Biogen became a disaster.
