Over 40% of Biogen jobs eliminated in last 36 months

You obviously don't know Biogen HR. They hosted sessions on white privilege and toxic masculinity. Then classified many high performance white males as toxic males. Biogens decline brought to you by empowered Karens.

I know I am right cause you still have Ginger. So good luck.
This is spot on. It started and got its footing in the late 2010’s and became progressively worse over time

Dipietro and Scangos had their woke biases and started the shift. However, Scangos was still smart.

Michele and Ginger inherited it and doubled down. Their toxicity and stupidity accelerated the demise. Add weak finance leaders with no vision and presto.

BIOHELL.

I can remember small things in 2015 or 2016, but keeping it mind it was a Cambridge based company it wasn’t that bad. However I distinctly recall 2017 was when the wheels started to come off culturally with DEI and woke crap. There was an earlier post talking about the culture falling apart in 2017-2019 and I think that was closely aligns with what we are saying here.

HR is never your friend in any company and industry.

Are any of the departments your friends? Is Finance your friend? Is IT your friend? Is Legal your friend? Is Commercial your friend? It’s always a mystery to me why anyone would think any department is supposed to be their friend. All department heads work in the best interest of Biogen, not you. Do your work, do it well, and you won’t have issues.

You worship false gods who care not for you or your family. Slave.

Layoffs will have to continue here. The companies mix of what they buy/research has been epic duds lately. It's not that some of the products aren't great, some are, but the over spending in dud R&D and take overs are dooming the company.

The sales that are up, just don't seem enough to support the company. Which means more layoffs. What sucks is, the people on the ground are doing everything they can. It's just not happening.
And spending 7 billion for 1 rare disease company (with only 1 product) was a huge mess up. Psst guys....rare disease numbers go down significantly in pt numbers/deaths (unfortunately). Then if it's one of those that has/gets competition, you need to adjust your expectations even more. Add in that a rare disease "cycle" takes a good year of someone working it hard to produce anything.
There are a lot of good things at biogen. But it will take years of adjustments to make this a good place again.

Implementation of meaningful adjustments requires the removal of the entire C-suite and most senior leadership lapdogs responsible for the last 5-7 years of failure, which is highly unlikely to happen. This is going to spiral further out of control.

Company is being positioned for M&A thus pipeline puffery and layoffs. Chris V was hired specifically for this reason. C-Suite and shareholders get paid out. You might get to keep a job under new management or maybe not. And you'd still have to pray the new ownership will be better.

Decide what's best for you, not Biogen.

Agreed. I would hope employees are reading the writing on the wall and preparing, this should not be a shock when it inevitably happens.

Easy and true. HR made good white male employees unwelcome and pushed demographics as talent. And many of them and their "talent" are still there at plus 1 to 2 levels as long as they check 1 dei box (and karen counts as a box in hr somehow. Must be chief karen officer ginger)

Put it this way. Biogen has paid Ginger 20M plus. What have you gotten in return. Chief karen energy, shitty culture, shitty talent, shitty performance.

And she is still there?
cry more

Are you saying there are no good hires from DEI. DEI gave people with merit a chance to at least be seen. Now we are going back to our old ways of if they aren't white its probably not right.
