our best are leaving

He's being "reassigned" overseas- to get some development in a smaller market before returning to the US. While other VP's were deemed a bad fit, why he gets to stay on and get a plum assignment is beyond me. The environment here is TOXIC and I'm sure there will be many more changes in the coming days

Not sure if dragging your family over to some little affiliate in a foreign land is necessarily a plum assignment. I guess they just got tired of firing everybody for any little thing. I hope it works out for him. However, it was clear that he never really had much success at any time during his career in the states. Very average rep and DM. Had success with the Clobex team but that was other people leading that team. He benefited from that - average below average marketing guy and really struggled in the role as head of sales. Sort of one failed assignment after another if you look at it objectively.

Hope he does better with a smaller entity. Not a bad guy just over his head on several of the positions he had.

If you look at the Ft Worth management from afar , a 3000 foot view , there have been some positive changes . Too much lip service given from sales & marketing to sales force that weren't getting paid , while VP's were focused on their bottom line BONUS for themselves .

Fray needs to mature as a person & a leader . All that grateful dead crap & zig zigger like motivating speeches were quite pathetic . Going over seas will do him good , away from the comfort of country club life & the cling on crew he developed . I wish him the best .

The NSM still needs a serious house cleaning . Questions have to be asked about fit or skills to do the job . This leaves Sellen & Curley on the outside . They simply don't provide value . Both are different but equally weak in their roles . Curley has clear struggles with anxiety & Sellen is just a paper pusher who will never fight for his people let along create waves in that division . Theracutix has been a major let down & people will continue to leave under that weak leadership .

If digging deeper perhaps Tom Fitz & the NAMs also need a full review to see if they are worthy or even needed in that role , include training in that as well , that job is mostly a 20 hour work week .

"Spring Cleaning " has proved to be healthy after the joke layoffs where Ft Worth leaders spared themselves the sword . Now they are getting a taste of that day for themselves , those forced out will not be missed . The future is looking brighter these days.

lets not forget about the bloated Marketing department that has been overstaffed for years. A medical department for what? we have branded generics do not need phase IV or that many MSLs to discuss branded generics. We still have a long way to go. Totally agree about Sellen very week and piss poor as a leader.

If a manager is incapable of reflecting on how their actions impact the people beneath them in an organization, then they should not be in these roles. The people mentioned here are great examples. C.s. Is extremely into "him" and "his" ideas and is literally ignorant to the talent around him. He views himself as such a superior... But it's a joke. I don't know a single rep who respects the man. Not one. That says a lot! For a manager to be promoted in his own company and bring zero allies is sad. And he works hard. And he smiles big. And he knows the competition. Ok... But in sales, that doesn't resonate and motivate. There's nothing personal there. Pretending to present as if you're "VP-guy" then appears phony, weak, canned...

The field is dying for nationals with passion!!! Encouragement through their dm's. The indirect threats Sellen sends down are insanely stupid. There is a missing link there. He has betrayed too many people. Sorry to vent here, but if we care about Galderma, let's call a spade a spade!! No more kid gloves. Let's not bs anymore and get shit done, have fun, and move on from these jackasses!

new gig as well 175K + bonus, car and 401K. Galderma was a great place but glad that I am moving on as well. Better work life balance too. Not sure why people are saying they are no opportunities out there. Just look!

Yeah ok and pigs fly and rock out to Elvis Friday nights at your friendly corner bar. Quit the smoke blowing!

I keep hearing about this better life balance. I really think you are searching for a thing of the past. The lack of life balance is a problem in our society, not the company. As our world stomps arrogantly down the road of fundamental reform, as declared by you no who, one of the enemies of that reform is individual life balance which comes from societal virtues of the past, like liberty, faith, decency and prosperity.

2 things matter:

1 - a DM you can trust
2 - a generous stock option plan

everything else is the same everywhere

some of us will stay here and have #1. we will never have #2.

some of us will leave and go to NVS with our pals, keeping #1. NVS doesn't have #2.

some of us will leave and get lucky and get #1 & #2

some of us will get laid off wherever we go or stay

good luck to all

Let's be honest... Pharmaceutical reps have it easy no matter what company we are at as far as work life balance. However, at my new company my hours are 10-2 compared to 9-3 at galderma. Can't complain with either of those!!!
