I have to agree with most of this post. I was w/my boss the other day and was told to save the week of 9/18 for Hem/Onc West meeting. I asked if this was to kick off the new organization and manager just giggled and said it could be.
 












Complete crap. There will be and I quote a reduction in 30 to 40 positions. You will be allowed to post for other positions within the organization. Same package as last time 2 weeks for every year of service. Starting October 1.
 


















I hope everyone has a nice 4th of July before all the carnage announced is announced next week with the parameters of the re-org. Down from 4 reps to 2. Early retirement for 55+, and voluntary packages starting Oct 1st. Heard internally up here CIA, Expense Reports, and Sample audits up tenfold the last few months? Anyone had, their expense reports audited, CIA ride alongs, CIA hard drive scanned, etc..., umm yes, everyone I talked to has had something happened like this that has never happened before. The goal is to make you all go away and scared for your job. The goal is also to get rid of everyone making 100K+ and replace with younger/cheaper reps. Home office/former rep here and this is the truth!! You will all believe me next week when it all goes down!! Happy Fireworks and job hunting!!

WRONG! Both time frame and number of Reps. If it were happening next week the managers would be more informed by now, which they aren't. Also, all indications point to modest number reduction accomplished mostly through retirements and ALL the open positions out there right now. Some territories will increase in size on the Onc side. Some reps will get new managers but in the end it will not be nearly as drastic as all the Chicken Littles are predicting here.

I for one will be enjoying my Summer Vacation. If I were to get downsized I'll just go get anther job with another Oncology Company. There are plenty of opportunities out there for experienced Onc Reps. There always were and there always will be. Look how many companies are investing in the Onc Market. It's the only pharma sector in the foreseeable future with plenty of room for innovation.
 












Must be a new rep drinking the Novartis Kool-Aid. We will see next week when your butt is looking for an Onc job and the market is flooded with Novartis reps!! They do not tell managers anything as they gossip more than the reps. They will tell us as soon as they hang up the phone and they are definitely in the dark on this one. The only ones that know are the RD's and they had to sign a major confidentiality form. Still some RD's can't keep their mouth shut, like M.E. who loves to run his mouth. Heard from another rep he said we are going down to 2 regions, East and West, new East region meeting in Atlanta week of September 12th, and Novartis is taking a charge against Femara sales this quarter to cover the re-org charges, shall I go on......? Onc 1 and 2 only, ya, ya, ya!! So yes, we all know whats going on and we know it goes down next week!! Seatbelts on for this bumpy ride and us in the North will be buried I hear?

So the managers know nothing, and RD's have taken the code of silence, and yet you and another rep. knows what is going to happen. Tell us where you are getting your information, or just continue berating anyone that would question your predictions, Mr Knowledge.

I love the way some people act like it could never happen! Those are the people that need to go first. The realists who know this job is a joke and have prepared for a lay-off will again come out ahead. Those of you who do not think there will be a major reorganization are fooling yourselves. Get ready!
 






Speculation does not mean it could not or will not happen, it just means that the timing and number of people in most people's predictions are completely off. It's funny to watch those who have no idea guesstimate and then call it fact.

Keep guesstimating. It's entertaining.

You should really consider a career in writing fiction or maybe comedy. At the very least construction because you're a massive TOOL!
