Done deal. Highly placed source. Midwest RD. September cuts in place for October, 1st quarte 2012. Who will go? If you've been trained on Zometa and didn't have a 1 on your year end, you're safe. Onc 3-4? One has to go. Good luck.

WOW!...Thanks for that great inside the OBU scoop. Was Emch falling off his bar stool when he let such sensitive information slip? Everyone has known this since Afinitor missed on NETs. I was pretty sure the pancreatic indication wasn't going to get the job done.

By all means keep Emch's drunken ramblings coming. He's alway good for a laugh.

Seattle Genetics and InCyte is where it is at!! $150K bases and major stock options!! Heard half the sales force in Oncology interviewed and only taking the good ones!!

And the younger ones too!! All my partners in California/Arizona who are 50 years and up interviewed and never got a call back. I know of 2 or 3 others that got offers and are we just waiting on the June bonus. Not losing out on that!!

You think that is a good thing? Older reps were here when the market allowed reps to do more than parrot a PI.

Unless you've discovered the fountain of youth or plan on leaving there as you age, you might think about what this really means.

True. And let's not forget that the MAJORITY of physicians are on average, 55+ years of age. Any rep <45 years, they don't take you seriously!!!

Not to mention all the companies mentioned will get bought if in fact their drugs panels out. Hmmm what company is in the best position to buy these companies? Oh that's right Novartis. Why? Oh I don't know maybe because they have experienced reps with actual relationships. Why don't you ask some of your young friends how it worked out for the Lilly reps who left to go over to Celgene only to be the first to go when Lilly bought them. Good luck trying to get a job when you are left out in the cold. Dick.

Why do old people get so worked up so easily. If I am a sales rep at 50 years old or older, someone please take me out of my misery. I better by a VP or something by then?

I'm not sure why I'm responding to this ignorance.....Lilly did not buy Celgene.

Novartis is investing mostly in lawsuits and criminal fines these days.....not pharma.

Most of these small companies are also partnering with many other companies thus, unraveling the structure for a buyout seems unlikely...they have learned they can get rich too.

Old confused guy makes a good point. Just substitute ImClone for Celgene.

2 regions, 1 East, 1 West. 2 RD's in east. Mgrs meeting moved back a week in July to have things ironed out by then. Go on 4th of July holiday, come back to re-org! 2 Onc's per territory. Many positions not being filled, both Mgr and Rep level.

Moving rather quick, mgt signed confidentiality agreement...so, don't tell no one!!

This is true, week of July 4th is when this is being rolled out to managers, then rolled out to field after managers meeting. Novartis will take a one time charge to pay for early retirement and severance packages in 3rd quarter.

Only 2 Onc and 2 Hem reps per smaller territory, effective date is October 1st. Will be with new teams and training on new portfolio products week of September 12th in Atlanta for East Region. Alot more cuts than first thought, everyone within 5 years of retirement age will be offered early retirement packages. Good luck to those that make it!!

No wonder Amgen is kicking our Zometa butts with XGEVA, no incentive to sell if we may not even have a job! This has been a huge distraction and all anyone is talking about is this realignment, not sales. Now our customers know now too!! Dr. just asked if I will still be their rep after the realignment. Nice going again Novartis with your transparency!!

I know, Amgen reps are having a field day with this. They are telling all the accounts that you will probably not have your rep anymore so loyalty is out the window. Amgen has told all my accounts Novartis is having a huge realignment with all new territories and reps. This is fun!!
