Ask yourself. Come Dec or maybe even sooner. Do you really want to be back a square one? Some will say that it is better than unemployment. All that these contract companies want is someone who can't think they are good enough to do something else. They get you to work hard because you are new and go threw a intense training program. Then when the end of contract approches they start to make excusses as to why the lack of bonus and will dangle the carrot of possible extention in front of you to try to keep that call averag up until the very last day. With a week to go or less the Regional will call a national conference call to say how proud they are of the group and the way they have acted professionally. This will be followed by a hope and think chances of a contract extention will happen. Finally when the impending end date arrives the contract extention is not going to happen based on the parent customers needs and you are to close out business by the end of the week. So contract companies will give you a weeks or maybe even a few months of pay for your dedication to their goals. This is because the entire way they have been screwing you more ways than one out of the money you deserve. This is their way of trying to keep a good name within the contract circles of this failing industry. They are all the same, offering no where jobs that do little to advance your skills as a salesperson. When the date hits and you get word of a national conference call don't acted surprized or think there is hope. This is the future of the industry and until it is realized by the people who are the salespeople, the screwing will continue. Most learned it when they are chidren. When the stove is hot don't touch it because you will get burned and they learn and don't do it again. As adults in a tough job market, yes a job is important but wouldn't you rather work for a company or someone that reckognized your work as your own and rewards you for it or continue to think this contract will be different? Be an adult and say that "I can do better" even if it means getting payed a little less or having to put in a full days work. When that time comes that would have had you back at square one at the end of the contract, unemployed and looking for the next hope to get back in. You just might find that job that you like and have gain your sence of worth back. Contract is going to be the last gulp of air that is taken by this industry before it all becomes goverment run.
