Novartis - Training

First, I heard that 16 people failed the oral boards and have a second opportunity to pass them tomorrow morning. Although the boards are ridiculous, I do have to say the Novartis managers I was with tried to help. The only way to fail was either to not have studied AT ALL or to have completely frozen up when it came your chance to talk in front of your peers.

Secondly, I agree that Novartis made a huge mistake hiring us as low-paying contract reps. During the training thus far, it definitely has seemed like Novartis is already treating us as red headed step children. Not appreciated. Believe it or not, Novartis, we are all adults and some of us have much more experience than even you. We have just run into unfortunate situations with downsizing that you haven't faced. This does not make you better than us!!!!

Thirdly, While I am here at this meeting, I am counting the days until I get home for my ftf with a direct-hire position with a much better company than Novartis. I know of at least 9 other reps who are here at training who have ftf iv's set up with other companies as soon as they get home.

Fourthly, what in the world can they talk to us for 10 days in this meeting? This is ridiculous! And please explain to me why they're holding a meeting in Florida in August? They must have saved a TON of money to have it here. Height of hurricane season. Hotter than hell. And don't get me started on the food at this meeting--my God, the first night, we had SUSHI AT A POOL-SIDE BUFFET IN 95 DEGREE WEATHER WITH FLIES EVERYWHERE????? And the food hasn't gotten much better since then.

Fifthly, why in the world was Novartis' meeting on Entresto a week earlier and in the same town? I don't even know who my day to day manager with Novartis will be and I've been working here for over a month!!

Novartis is trying to save money; They're going to wind up spending much more than what they wanted due to the number of people quitting. Between the ridiculous training, the "holier than thou" attitude of Novartis people towards Publicis, and low pay, etc., Novartis will be lucky to retain 30% of the reps they're paying to stay in Orlando for 10 days.

Best post! You hit the nail on the head. We are being treated like trash here . The majority of the people here are interviewing with better companies. I don't see this contract lasting long .

How is the training going?
It stinks. De motivating for a sales position. Everyone is strategizing and networking on how to get out of this raw deal rather than focusing on the work. The compensation is so low that there is virtually no risk in taking another job. In fact people are taking bets on our turnover.

I pray that we ALL can escape from this misery.....It is absolutely terrible....,The WORST contract ever. I have a friend who's a Board Certified Family Physician and when I told him that Novartis wanted us to ask him what his definition of the NYHA Class 2&3 was, he said he'd throw the rep. out of the office. He doesn't have TIME for that nonsense....I think this contract will not last very long. Totally absurd....

They may only retain 50%

I can't believe the crap I'm reading here. I'm actually flabbergasted at how many whiners are here. Biggest shit pile of entitled, ignorant fools I've seen. Just get with the program or gtfo!!!

Identify yourself if you want us to see things from your point of view!

Otherwise, look at things from our point of view:
We are investing a ton of our time and for what?
It's a one year or less contract, the compensation is poor, and for a sales job there is zero incentive for us to stick with this. We are in a dead end job, we can't get promoted, we can't get a raise, we have no job security, plus we probably won't earn bonus.

So whoevers idea it was at Novartis to just get a bunch of contract reps and think it would help Entresto sales-- YOU MADE AN UNEDUCATED DECISION.

Let's see...the drug is WAY behind expectations in the marketplace. Chances are it will NEVER be the blockbuster Novartis expected it to be. PCs are writing very little, they are waiting for cards to jump onboard. Cards are dragging their feet. Coverage is not great, PAs required and MC is requiring PAs for everything - including generics. PCs overall do not have time nor inclination to initiate therapy. Why don't you do your homework before criticizing. I believe you are the ignorant fool. A moron too. We are grateful to have a job for sure but we're smart to be looking elsewhere cuz this contract will likely be short-lived. I could be wrong but probably not.
