Nominations for worst manager at Novartis









Been here many years and most of my managers have been great to at least tolerable. Two really bad including my most recent one, who quit a few months back. All I can say is the place has gotten much better without a manager hovering over me all of the time. In fact, my sales have gotten much better now that I feel that I have the freedom to do my job vs some crazy metrics obsessed mgr hanging all over me. The majority of us know what we are doing and really don't need a manager/babysitter. Think it's time for company to reconsider what a managers role should be. Unfortunately, that's not happening anytime soon.

Well said my friend. They are truly nothing more than babysitters and totally distracting. Managers offer no value to the Rep. They are hall monitors for corporate who doesn't trust their sales representatives. If they would make better hires, they wouldn't have trust issues.

I am a great manager because I have proven to make the best people on my team leave the company. I also have a great record of hiring incompetent people who also leave the company because they can't meet sales goals. I do this because it give me greater control to manipulate people.

I have a great ability to steal my best people's ideas and expertise in the market place to develope strategies and tactics that they develope and formulate and execute, that I then claim as my own to share with my director to show that I am a great manager.

I haven't developed anybody on my team for years. I don't promote people to grow within the company because that would threaten me.

I am an expert at ethic and compliance. Not that my people are doing anything against policy, but rather just to let them know who is the boss.

I like to look at mileage on the cars during ride alongs. Not that there is a problem. But I just want to make sure that the expense reports are perfect. I am an expense report expert. Again not that there is a issue, but rather it keeps me busy on Fridays.

My family thinks I am the bestest manager ever. I am not sure who they are because work life balance is my monikor . And therefore I am a Novartis God and they are not that important. I think that people really care about me, I am not just a number.

I have found that I excel most at is analingus with my director. Because that seems the best way to keep doing what I do. And that is what my director does best to the V.P.

seriously? The majority of the expansion CV managers. Where did they find them? So many contract managers hired on that are check the box, worthless. Don't bring crap for value to the reps.

the LT think it's a secret but those poor PSLs know how awful everything is since their arrival
and that meeting was insulting
 








Ed in the MSBU.... second hand experience but I've seen enough to know someone who brings zero value to a team.


Many believe he is the worst of the worst.I don't work for him but I heard the nightmares.I was told a Regional Director had to meet with the team to discuss the disfunction.Hardly improved morale and the team has given up hope for improvement.
