No 3rd interview

Anyone not meet the Regional and still get an offer?

If you don't see the RD you don't get an offer. That is what they always do. They will say, please hang out here for a minute, if we need more info then we will get you. When they come back and say that they have all the info they need that means you were screened after they pow wowed about you. Pretty humiliating to have to play along with their charade.

Tacky, stupid, low rent interviews and way to treat candidates but then again most of the management are fired Pfizer hacks so what do you expect?

Can you please clarify if the interview in Dallas was for the hospital positions or the Neuroscience positions? I am under the impression that most Neuro positions have been filled. Thanks

Today I was told it does not mean you are out of it if you do not see the RD. They may be too backed up to talk with you. Also, these interviews the last three weeks were just for the Neuro positions, and Hospital interviews will be coming in the future.

I have to agree with the poster who said you will not get an offer if no RD interview....I interviewed in Dallas this week...did not get the RD interview. Probably due to only 6 months of Atypical Antipsychotic Experience.....regardless, the process seemed fair, though the wait in the boardroom to find out who and who did not get 3rd interviews sucked...they should have texted us instead with time of that interview.

No regrets, interviewing is always great training, and I have a pretty good job outside of big (or semi-big) pharma anyway. My only observation was the apprehension I felt listening to the reps talking to each other....who they know, their successes....just seemed phony liked phony bravado, which makes me cringe.

The company seems pretty darn solid and seems to take care of their employees. Fyi....

Agreed . Seems like a great company. Seemed like rookie managers however . I overheard that they asked for last three years performance reviews and then would not even look at them , tacky way to treat candidates.

I am 5 months new to this company. If you can put up with doing a few more reports and constant dinner programs you should be fine. The benefits are very good, Ford Edge easy to drive and at least my manager is a realist who lets me do my job. Heck even with this expansion I believe there will be about or less than 500 reps total! Big Pharma cuts that number or more in a day.

Find it real hard to believe Otsuka would interview someone with only 6 months CNS experience when there are very solid reps who did not get interviews with years of CNS experienc and hospital experience. This drug will be used in infusion clinics, many of which are affiliated with hospital systems. If they are not hiring experienced hospital reps. who have had to work within these political systems getting drugs on formulary or on protocol, they may be in for a slow response for drug utilization.

I interviewed yesterday in Dallas....I agree with the above posts...asked for 3 years of annual reviews and did not even look at them.......waited in board room to see who would be moved on to Regional which was 4 people total that I saw....humiliating.......I would have loved the job though......seems like a great company

The manager I interviewed with looked at all three years of reviews--plus all FCR's and everything else in my brag book. Yours must not have been very thorough.

That is hilarious. You must be new to pharma. The manager and RD did not even blink an eye or request to look at any brag "book" as that practice is lame and anyone could put together a trumpeted up fake book of numbers. A big red flag to any candidate is the "viewing" of the brag book by the DM, this is horse shit and any competent savvy hiring manager does not give a rats arse about a kids brag book. We had an adult business conversation about bottom line dollars and relationship, not once did a brag book even enter the equation. I was offered the job before my flight boarded, have not accepted yet, but probably will if my basket of jobs disappears. You people with your FCR's and brag books are ridiculous. A bunch of kids wearing Mommy's clothes and make up. PUKE!

Hey asswipe, you probably have achieved nothing in this industry and you are simply jealous. Too bad for you numb nuts!

oddly enough i agree with the obnoxous guy. i think a brag book is nice to have in the bag but its te conversation and confidence that makes the sale. bring every thing but when the interview is going well you will see the exhibits never come out. sell right off the resume and show your last three year end w2 and note the bonus. if that isnt enough the brag book wont save you.
must interview with rsd to maybe get the job. if you dont know by now u did not get it. sorry and good luck.

I agree with both posters. I interviewed 5 months ago for an open Neuroscience territory with a "brag" book I put together maybe a day before because you had to have something. And I never won a trip of presidents club. Its totally over hyped. I think with Otuska they give the manager the power to make the hiring decision. The RD just rubber stamps the choice, unless you fall flat on your face during that interview. I knocked it out of the park with the hiring manager and the second manager who was there in the interview. Its all a matter of how yourself and the manager hit it off! Everybody knows in our industry these trip winners etc, while some are legit, many ride the coat-tails of other co-workers or more importantly some huge managed care win that drove their numbers through the roof. Some people win these president's clubs things legit, but its way over hyped. If you interview well and come off sincere thats more important than blown up numbers.

I concur. Your reviews and other past company rankings are confidential. If there is any mention on a document that it is confidential you are suppose to keep it that way. Your experience and examples of that should be enough as well as the ability to connect with the hiring manager.

You sound like someone who has never performed and obviously never earned on of these awards. Yes, some people luck out with this crap, but most actually work their ass off to earn these awards. Im not talking about people working in Pods, im talking about one person one territory and the results are from your efforts.

I agreed with the obnoxous guy and the last post. Your results are important and they are what would be on the resume that drives the conversation to what you did and will offer the new company. The book itself is really for you as a reminder to all the things you have done and you incorporate the actions and results in the conversation. People who pull it out i see as not as polished or confident as someone who can have a conversation and tell me why they are the one. Otherise, its like hey dsm i am really good. See, read through my book while I sit here and stare at you. The smart ones have one or two seperate one page and brief pieces that as they are talking somehow appear in front of me for a quick glance. I quick motion never breaking eye contact and in total control of where and what they are saying
Practice the interview often

Sorry my mistaken poster, I have performed, its just that not being a top 5 or 10% performer like yourself! I got the job, am very happy at Otsuka, and rather than be one of those who win a Presidents club and thats what they have to show for it, I am consistent year after year. And I do work hard. So while you still look for work, I will be happy to go to war for Otsuka Monday through Friday.
