You get over yourself. I think you forgot a small part of our jobs as a Rep. Informing doctors about clinical benefits AND WARNINGS. I know at the end of the day, it's still about numbers but I have more integrity than that. I would never sell something I didn't feel was appropriate to a patient. I think we often forget the real importances of our job, and I agree the industry has made us signature collecting sample droppers, but, some of us try to be better than that. And, we are selling a drug not a device-totally different type of sales strategies. I've done both, so yes device is more complex but you are comparing apples to oranges. We talk about formulary, we can't negotiate prices. We are in a highly regulated industry, unlike most devices, they can talk badly about competitors and say BS because they aren't constantly being scrutinized by the FDA. I think pharma should have never gotten into being a sales business, we should never capitalize on profit over healthcare. But, then again, look around-even doctors want to make money.
What Dr really has the time to have a full discussion with you because of an established “rapport” and “relationship”. If they do wouldn’t this be an indication that their practice is not busy enough? What you do is so much more important than a CSA thus the reason your job is in jeopardy. Next time see how long your relationship lasts if you do not sample the Dr! “integrity”? “would never sell something (you) didn't feel was appropriate to a patient”? You don’t get to choose the med you sell! FYI clinical information can be obtained online and warnings are on the PI’s. It’s not a secret only the sales rep can provide the office. You are completely delusional; at least you can get antipsychotics at a discount. In fact after you get laid off maybe you should look into selling Seroquel XR, at least you can tell the Dr firsthand the clinical benefits.
