Nexgard Thoughts

I rescued a mutt (Anna) in april '15. Started her on Heartgard and Nexgard and everything was fine for 11 months. Then a seizure lasting 10 minutes. Vet wasn't very concerned and knew about the Nexgard. 3 months later another seizure. Red flags and the vet prescribed phenobarbital. Two months into the meds, a 3rd seizure. All vet can suggest is more/different drugs instead of trying to find a cause. Does anyone think NexG might be contributory? Her blood test (after the 1st seizure) and liver test (after 1 month of pheno) didn't show any problems. I don't want to pump my dog with pills everyday.

You are a fucking idiot. I'm so tired of reading stories like yours trying to blame a product when it probably has something to do with the age/breed/family history of the pet. It's not the nexgard, some animals just develop seizures as they get older or they had a traumatic event. If your current vet isn't willing to look into causes, you should probably get a second opinion. Although if you are on this board, blaming a product, your vet probably made several recommendations about ruling out what might be causing the seizures and you are too much of a cheap ass to do any of it or you really are broke, and don't want to admit it's just your pet.

Ditto. If your vet doesn't think it is product related, why do you? Even if it is, adverse events happen to a very small population of patients for every drug. People die every year from adverse events due to aspirin. Quit looking for someone to blame. And get off our board. This is where sales reps go to make fun of our competitors, spread rumors and bitch about management. I can guarantee you that your voice is not being heard by posting on Cafepharma.

Absolutely- the Nexgard has something, if not EVERYTHING to do with your furbabies problems. Those that feel they must answer you by belittling you and resorting to name calling are obviously disgruntled employees of the company. Since when is what your vet has to say - golden? They only know what the sales reps tell them they need to know. Find a holistic vet who will help you get this neurotoxic, insecticidal pesticide out of your dogs system

Oh yeah, find a holistic vet. Good one. How about a My Little Pony leash and collar to wear to the dog park? Because as we all know, friendship is magic. Your dog will be better in no time.

I just love how people question their vets.

Just love how these comments that are rude are from anonymous! Very easy spouting shit when you don't have to act like a proper human.

HSchein is hungry for your attention ya'll! There is a huge gaping hole appearing due to the lack of effort being recognized at elnco. Those fools are like orphans lost in a wasteland of old molecules and poorly trained leadership, so they lack desire to keep us engaged. Now that you are part of the big BI, you need to get focussed. Lets go!

If you can't stay focused without us holding your hand then we don't need you. Are you 10? If you don't sell, you don't eat. Isn't that motivation enough?
Actually, the big BI is smaller than the almighty Merial. Go back to taken orders if you don't want to work for it. Worthless.

Actually the new BI is bigger than the old merial. All the merial reps kept their jobs and BI added about 35 of their own reps. Yeah. That's right. Merial kept their jobs. Even the bottom feeders. And BI reps lost theirs. Effed up. But, still bigger than the old merial and dozens of positions are posted as well.

wow, you should start a web page on Facebook. Or better yet contact that troll reporter right down the road from Merial HQ.
I think you have something here.

It's no coincidence that Jim Strickland hasn't done any negative reporting on a Merial product. Somebody's pockets are deep compliments of Merial.
