New MBA here, and six months into this I am ready to quit.

hey genius, I am over 100 percent sure that we are "tracked" more than you. So, if we don't work, we are fired.

Now, go back to the strip club and do another line with those doctors you buy for business.

Of course you are tracked, that is the only way they can make sure you work a few hours a day. Before tracking most people were only working 1-2 days per week. BTW: I wish I was doing blow with doctors at the strip club

You're funny. You think watching other people work is work.

It's easy to see by your attitude that you somehow feel the need to build yourself up at the expense of putting others down. How sad for you.

I don't think those of us that are hearing give drug reps a hard time ae being anything but truthful. Face it, you have a job. Good. It is an easy job. And when you blow the lid off of what really happens in pharma, drug reps get very defensive because they don't want people to know the truth. Sort of like when you blow the lid off of Union workers, with all of the perks they get for questionable reasons and the Union guys get very defensive and argumentative.

I get it, I was in pharma. When I was, nobody at my company would admit the short working hours, the 2 interactions they got with the Doctors, the lunches they were forced to do, starting their day at 10 and ending around 2, the "sample only" calls or "lit only" calls, or the calls everyone probably didn't make...

So yes, I get it. If I were a drug rep getting 90 grand a year or whatever to do this "job" I wouldn't want people exposing it either. IN fact, when I was a drug rep I always thought "How the hell can this continue? Don't people know?"

During a job interview when a manager asks "why do you want to be a drug rep?" just be honest and say "I like easy working hours and I hear this is an easy job."

Here is the thing we know: device reps are just as "lazy".

For you to think your job is so much more sophisticated is a joke, when it isn't.

Device is more sophisticated. It is more of a coveted job. It is harder to get in to. And the irony of your statement is that so many drug reps say on here "Device reps have to be on call, have to fly all the time, have to deal with surgery, have to deal with hitting numbers, have a higher stress job...that sounds like too much work, I'll stick with my pharma job." I have read statements like that time and time again.

So I don't blame you for wanting to keep that little secret of how easy your job is. It is like the Union guy that doesn't want you to know he gets $25 an hour for bolting bumpers to cars.

Just remember...."Shhhhh!"

Oh Hi dear.......would you like to check on samples? Oh hi.....I'm here to check xxx samples today? please this is not sales!! I was at my obgyn about six months ago. This guy walks in and says to front desk? Hi do you need any samples of xxx? Are you serious? Please explain to me how this is sales?

Device and pharma have at least as many similarities as differences. They are both sales jobs. Oh, but you make substantially less per hour "worked" than pharma sales reps do. No wonder you are so upset!

You don't know shit.

Medical device reps think they are God's gift to selling. Well, you are not. You are all just company bees like the rest of corporate America.

Stop thinking you are so goddam special.

Some of the most socially retarded people I've ever met were those who hold their MBA in high regard! An MBA doesn't help you at all these days, lol. A new MBA is just a new social r*****. Listen, just get busy and don't be one of those clowns that feels the need to put MBA after your name on your business cards. Most of us have them, it's really no big deal. Sell me something!

That is a key part of selling: getting past the bitch at the front desk.

No, not upset. This isn't a "per hour worked scenario. I actually like my job and I make more than 90% of the drug reps. out there. In fact my base is going to near 100k by the end of year, with another 70 in commission. And I work 40 hours a week.

So enjoy working 4 hours a day. God knows what you people do with all of that extra free time...I am guessing facebook, shopping, masturbating (not judging, we all do it when we are bored), etc.

There are very little similiarties between these two jobs. I have done both. If you aren't willing to work hard, device isn't for you. Then again, if you aren't willing to work hard, you aren't entitled to my sort of income/lifestyle either. And at 40 hours a week I still have time to take my weekend car out during the week days, go out for a beer with the guys, mow the lawn, spend time with my family, go to church, etc etc.

Again, this job is awesome for working moms and I would really encourage women to pursue this job. It is good for women too who just want a second income when their husband makes the sort of money I do. Furthermore, it is a good job for women who like to go to the mall and shop. Great job for the ladies out there.

You may have done both jobs, but you still don't know what you're talking about. It's obvious that you are an insecure little guy who feels the need to put others down to boost their self esteem.

The jobs are quite similar, you just work longer hours and make less per hour. Enjoy!

So, you are admitting that you are a loser. Keep your 4 hour day, good for you.

Masturbating, we all do it when we are bored?

Wow.

And you are a medical device rep?

No wonder why the mangers interviewing me are so goddam stupid. They hire people like you, jerking off all day.
