New Directors

henry morales made the decision to retire, he was fired.
He sounded happy and real positive to be retireing on our teleconference, way to go out, a real class act - probably because he always had a lot of other interests and has wanted to pursue them.

One of the best Director's who was successful without sucumbing to micromanaging the crap out of people. Down to earth and smart, really cared about his people - unlike some other director's he actually had a life without being a merck clone - We will miss him.

agreed, he always struck me as a really good guy. who wouldn't be happy getting out now? He was probably bridged to retirement, thats the best deal going, I would feel like I wont the lottery! enjoy life henry! you earned it.

Go Joe, get fired up!!!! These morons don't know a class act when they see one. You and your Father both! The idiots will be praising your work when their options go up because Merck is back on track with REAL leaders! Keep doing what your doing, we respect your work and know you will go far!!!!!

It's a little late for you, isn't it Joe? Nighty night.

anyone over 52 can be bridged to retirement, he was old enough.
the std enhance separation policy is on the merck hr website - doesn't anyone here know how to read? it states that 49 + and you are eligible to be bridged - policy is up to band 4 so that means that if you are 49 years of age and have the requisite number of years with merck and you are separated because of a reduction or realignment of the group you are in you win.

I completely agree. Will be staying until the displacement in March, even if I am retained I will be moving out of Mother Merck. I really am concerned from a stockholder standpoint that the company is making some VERY poor choices. Not interested in keeping my wagon hitched here any longer. Unfortunately I've got too many years in Merck to walk away now and leave a sizable severance on the table if I'm lucky enough to get displaced. It's clear where the company is headed by the recent round of director decisions. Managers are next and that will be an even bigger clue.

Originally scheduled for November 1 but has been moved up- sometime in October, perhaps the 1st or mid-October. Hopefully sooner rather than later! I don't know about anyone else but it's REALLY hard to keep motivated and be positive in this environment.

VERY hard to keep positive and attitude up. Most of us in sales are people persons, and we know that we have a chance to be cut, and we also have friends and people we care for and admire who will be affected....on top of all of the people who have already been cut. Even if we find out we've been kept, we'll still be impacted peripherally.

I get that Mother is going to wait until after the new year to make most of the cuts (the sales force reps), but do you think they've compared the money they will save with a new severance package and contrasted that with the money lost in significantly decreased productivity from the entire force while we all wait to get the word?

The fact that our company is in the position to have to make numerous cuts in the first place carries its own descriptive message about the lack of leadership; the way they have handled this entire process carries another message about the failure of leadership; and then the people they've retained as DCO's is proof positive that this organization is on a collison course with irrelevance. I can no longer put my family's name behind this organization. Best of luck to all who remain.
