NCAA FOOTBALL WEEK 4 PICK EM!

Bronco, Yes you are (7-5) for some reason I gave the FSU game.

Tinkrbelle is (5-6) this week! I don't care what she admits to because she picked: USC, Rutgers, K. State, Clemson & Oregon. That is 5 wins..

Thanks for double checking the picks and putting together the leader board.

Yes, re: Tinkrbelle, you are right and I was wrong, BamaBoy.

Tinkrbelle did not count her Clemson pick as a correct score. Consequently, Tinkrbelle went (5-6) for Week #4.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Approporiate correction included below:

1. TINKRBELLE: (23-11) + (5-6) = 28-17 (62.2%)

2. FUCKTARD: (14-14) + (5-5) = (19-19) (50%)

3. PALE HORSE: (17-17) + (NP) = (17-17) (50%)

4. BRONCOBOY: (13-21) + (7-5) = (20-26) (43.5%)

5. BAMABOY: (13-21) + (5-7) = (18-28) (39.1%)

6. BREAKING NEWS: (5-17) + 5-6 = (10-23) (30.3%)

7. NIGHT TRAIN LANE: (2-8) + NP = (2-8) (25%)

8. WHITE TRASH: (NP) + (2-9) = (2-9) (22.2%)

Btw, I watched the UL Monroe-Baylor game and was really impressed with UL Monroe. They are the real deal and would give most any team a run for their money. Baylor won 47-42 in a high scoring game but UL Monroe came real close to picking them off. I was sort of surprised that the pre-game odds favored Baylor by only a TD. I guess the Arkansass game and the Auburn game put them on the map. That UL Monroe QB Browning is a real jewel. Real nice touch on the ball. A team like Boise could really use a QB like him. I wonder where UL Monroe found him?

I am too late for tonight's game.

11. CLEMSON VS. FSU -14.5 (Will the semen-holes take care of business?)---LOST

Your Clemson pick was a winner.

Top 10 reasons I think it's nuts to attend college or pro football games

1. It's expensive. For each person figure on spending $100 minimum (ticket + food/drink).

2. Unless you have premium seats it's hard to make out what happens on each play.

3. Watching on TV gives you a ringside seat plus someone is there to explain what's going on.

4. Fighting traffic to and fro is a real bitch. Then when you get there you have to fork over $20 for parking.

5. Sitting in the hot sun or the rain is no fun.

6. Inevitably there is always some obnoxious drunk asshole sitting behind me that I am forced to listen to for the entire game. Usually he spills popcorn or his drink on me.

7. When I have to pee I am forced to stand at a trough like a fing cow while watching 20 other guys pee just like me.

8. If I have to take a #2 I miss a quarter of the game waiting for a stall.

9. If somebody in the middle seats and wants to buy a concession from the hot dog man I have to pass him his food and the money back and forth.

10. When my team loses it doubles the misery.

I heard an interview with the UL Monroe (La Monroe-That's what the locals call it) Head Coach the other day. The UL Monroe Head Coach use to be the Head Coach of Army. Army is a really tough place to Coach but he said the UL Monroe QB is a local boy from North Louisiana. The Coach was talking about how Browning is a really tough dude and played all last season with a broken sternum. I agree they should have beaten Baylor. What is really impressive is they are only playing with 55 scholarship players!

I do respect the fact that some of the smaller programs are making a statement that they are no gimmie on the schedule. They come out and try to play their best game against teams who are trying to have a break from conference play. Case in point, UAB (University of Alabama Birmingham) scored 15 points on Ohio State this past weekend! The new head coach of UAB was the old Offensive Coordinator at Arkansas under Bobby Patrino. His name is Gerrick McGee and he is a coach to watch for in the future.

Wow. Browning played 2011 with a broken sternum? He's got to be one tough dude. That is one small college player who should at least get a tryout by the pros. What impressed me was the touch he has on his passes. He can thread the needle for sure.

I see that OSU was favored by over 35 pts over UAB. Final score: 29-15. OSU is having a hard time getting it together this year. They play Michigan State this week. Certainly more competition than UAB.

I was looking over the games for Week #5. Not that many good ones. Sort of a boring week for college football. I figured by this time we'd see some real action.

Andrew Maxwell has sucked for Michigan State. He is a statue in the pocket and can't make plays like Cousins yet. I guess he needs time. I think that OSU wins this one comfortably.

I think a lot of the major teams are starting to take their bye weeks since we are kind of near the half way point in the season. This has also been kind of a weak season compared to the past. We don't have a lot of undefeated teams left. The ones that are undefeated have their major games later in the season like BAMA Vs. LSU and USC Vs. Oregon.

I think you might be right about LSU after Saturday Night. Mettenburger is not the second coming. LSU also has a lot of injured players on defense. A local sports journalist just wrote an article entitled "Bama's schedule week to weak." LSU is just another example of team that is falling apart before BAMA plays them? It's not our fault that these traditionally strong teams are imploding.

I agree with your rant. I usually go tailgate with people who I know have RV's with satellite links and watch the game with them. I also go sometimes if one of my friend's who have season tickets are not going to a game.

It's funny because the people I know who are season ticket holders who have RV's and tailgate usually don't go to the game. They just drink and party and if it's a night game they don't want to leave the RV because they don't want to leave the comfort of their RV for the reasons you just mentioned.

What I find is really sad are Nascar fans. I know there are a lot of well-to-do Nascar fans but there are also lots of poor unemployed or under employed fans as well. The prices to go see a race is as much as a College or NFL game. It's totally unattainable for a lot of people.

I was impressed with Bell when MS played Boise. He hits the line hard and for a big guy can sprint in the open field. But ND really shut him down in their 20-3 win.

Btw, WTF is up with LSU only dropping one place to #3 in the AP rankings? LSU looked like crap against Auburn should not even be in the top 10.

And WTF is Boise still doing @ #24? Their offense is high-school caliber this year. No way should they be ranked within the top 40.

OSU is ranked #14 in the AP but are not even ranked in the Coaches Poll. What's up with that? Are they under sanctions?

Can't wait for that #10 ND vs. #8 Stanford game on 10/13. What did I tell you about ND at the start of the season? I told you that they were a Top 10 team, didn't I?

Personally, I think ND should be worried more about Miami on 10/6 than Stanford on 10/13.

I think I'm just getting old, Bama. :D

I opt for comfort these days rather than for the thrill to be in the middle of it all just to tell my friends I was at the game.

I understand why college kids get off on it.

To each his own.

Re: Nascar races. I'd rather watch a cockfight. And I don't like cockfights at all. Car racing is a very strange sport for spectators.

The only reason I ended up at the UF vs Kentucky game was a fluke. I used to go a lot, now just occasionally.

Everything on that list is spot on, except for 2 things:

1. I don't pee in a trough, however, I often have to hover as to not place my body near the seat, and I had flip flops on and damn near went flying on the wet bathroom floor.

2. No account in this list for the atomosphere of being back on campus and being around all of those fans. It is fun as hell.

Everything else is true. I even paid $20 to park.

Had a blast, though. There is something special about The Swamp and running around with a zillion other wackos dressed in orange and blue. Especially with a win, a shut out at that.

I saw this list as originally just mentioning NFL games. It really does pertain to NCAA games, also.

Go Gators! I am celebrating being 4-0....but now the hard part of the schedule begins.

I think after how I saw LSU play the other night, and being that this game is in The Swamp, we might just have a chance. We may not win, but it will be a better game than people originally thought. Can't wait to see the spread.

And BamaBoy, it better damn well make the pick choices!

I agree with all your points. The worst part was how hot it is. I ocassionally like to go to college games-- maybe 1 per season. But I get the tickets for free. parking and walking to the stadium is a bitch!
I ahve to agreee with BamaBoy-- tailgating is the way to go-- especially if one has a huge RV with satelite dish-- then no need to even leave the comfort of the RV, but you still get all the fun of being there and seeing friends.

Are you crazy? HELL YEAH LSU VS. Florida is going to be on the pick em this week! I think Florida has a good chance to upset LSU and win! LSU is kind of beat up on defense right now and Mettenburger did not look great against a weak Auburn defense..

The line right now favors LSU over Florida by 13.5 points.

Put that game up with those odds and I would go with the Gators in a NY minute without even reviewing the team histories so far for 2012.

Did you see some of the other odds for Week #5?

They have Arizona favored over Oregon State by 3 points! HAH! That's after Arizona got dey asses kicked by Oregon and Oregon State beat UCLA? Total BS.

And Thursday's game is Stanford vs. Washington with Stanford favored only by 7.

Put those games up on the board and it's a gift.

Hey Tink....you don't need any gifts. But the rest of us do.

If Obama was running this board he would give you all the hard games and the rest of us the easy games to make us 'more equal'.

Afterall, you're not responsible for your own success. We made you what you are.

(sarcasm)........ ;)
