I am so proud of the SEC today! I knew Florida would take care of business against FSU, Georgia curb stomped Georgia Tech and South Carolina beat Clemson. Even in a so called "down year," the SEC has a very good shot at winning the NC and will have a Heisman trophy winner.
I do feel that Oregon was robbed of the opportunity to play in the PAC-12 Championship Game and the NC. I think Bronco's conspiracy theory about UCLA laying down and getting beat by Stanford today is proof something was going on. I guess we will see next week if UCLA shows up ready to play.
The upcoming 4-Team playoff is not the perfect solution but will really help teams like Oregon and Florida. We all know that Oregon have played some solid ball this year but Florida is a damn good team. If the 4-Team playoff were in effect this year we would have BAMA or Georgia, Florida, Oregon and ND in the playoff. Oregon Vs. BAMA would have made for a much better NC. The Ducks barely lost in OT and got screwed by UCLA.
The Irish have played very well this season but I think their luck finally runs out on Jan. 7th...
Proud of the SEC? For what? Scheduling squibs last week so that all of their starters would be rested? As for Florida, they scheduled back to back squibs before beating Florida State. (Nothing like gift wrapping 5 turnovers I might add.)
Stroke your pogo sticks this week....as I will pop my popcorn and watch the most overhyped, overrated conference lose half their bowl games as they do every year inspute of enjoying home field advantage.
As for my undefeated Buckeyes, They ran the table on the collectively worst Big 10 in recent memory. Urbane developed a horrible defense into a respectable one, and they did beat Mich State, Wisky and Penn State on the road.
Had they not been the victims of the vest's crimes, Alabama wouldn't even sniff the national title game (or Georgia for that matter should an upset occur).
Should be ND and OSU for all the marbles. Not even the ESPN SEC cumguzzlers could sneak the likes of Bama in again after....losing a conference game at home for the second year in a row.
Yes indeed. The SEC will parade out about 9 teams from their mediocre conference including the participators of today's rotten egg bowl.
Inspite of having virtual home games, the "God's conference" will lose half their bowl games as they do every year....and still hoodwink the media in ranking 6 of their teams in the top 12 next year in the preseason polls.
Match up the SEC teams from 1-12...against the PAC 12.... 1-12....and the west coast conference would win 8 of those games.
Washington State would beat Kentucky so badly that the refs would be forced to "stop the fight" at halftime.
As an aside, celebrating the 2002 national champion team by hoisting Tressel on the shoulders of Krenzel and Clarett was a as classless as it gets today in Columbus.
Tressel needs to GTFO of the shoe...permanently.
