Misery in VBU

Every day it’s someone else leaving the VBU. Or a new tracker. Or more busy work. How long can this go on?

Busy work will go on for ever or until you leave. We ought to be able to utilize what trackers and such we think will help us manage the business. No, just like a baby being force fed, we have to use it even if we don't need it which results in lost productivity. Now if a territory is underperforming, then maybe some of these tools should are incorporated. Not at GSK, it's a company that has never evolved.

After my team meeting this morning, time to play nine holes. Yesterday the course was to busy because of the nice weather here in the mw. I've got a FLL working way to often with me so I need to save up all my calls for when he/she make an appearance which is every two weeks. Yes every two weeks. That clearly shows displays that the FLL's need 10-12 reports rather than 5-6.

Reality in the VBU is since Al “retired” and KS took over the micro management is killing the VBU. VMS monthly with KS and FVP’s, FVP’s with FLL, and FLL with reps is driving the best sales people out of the VBU. Let people go sell and don’t kill your sales force with worthless time wasting dog and pony show. Al cared about the people and the VBU… KS cares about where she is going next… not your career.

Leave the VBU if you don't like it. You can be replaced.

Tick Tock, we are on the clock
Late October is when they will knock
Offering severance will not be a shock

Our time is over and the sun will set
We had a great run, we shouldn't fret
Hopefully you saved and did not bet

So enjoy the summer but work on that resume
We will be looking for work that's what they say
Are you really that surprised? We work for GSK

The VBU is not perfect by a long stretch. It's not a fun place, field managers are puppets, our products for the most part are so so, and when we hit a home run in a product like Shingrix the organization totally screwed it up and many relationships with customers suffered.
With all that said, you have a choice.

Yes the company was working towards trumping up crap against him. This company is dirtier than s..t. What have you done to feel
Proud. They are beyond disgusting. Trying to get rid of long timers and those above 40.

Where there is smoke there is fire. Most old timers have held onto the image of what they were many years ago and fail to reinvent themselves. They point the finger when only to be sure that finger should point at themselves. It's sad but a reality so often. Maybe he should just retire and remember what use to be back in the day.

My my my! How things have changed. The VBU was the darling of the ball for quite awhile. Then, history repeated itself 3x over. We've seen this before. Vaccines is where the "elite" reps go. Only they are just quick talking BS artist. Then the crap hits the fan and they scurry like rats off a sinking ship. Seen this play out a couple times in my career. If history repeats, and it most likely will, you will see massive pressure placed on the VBU. Many will leave on their own others go out on "disability" and others laid off. You had a great run and were able to hide for ten years. Now the music has stopped and it's time to pay the piper.
