Message to management

Sad to hear as my manager is great. She works with me consistently and knows all of my key customers and has given me a chance to work with other resources and reps. My RD has been with me a few times but her help has really been with reviewing sales reports with me to uncover concerns and find new opportunties, helping me with larger account strategies, working with the home office team to get things done quickly for me and my customers. Its unfortunate that things are not more consistent in other areas but please do not think it is all bad at Genoptix. Hopefully things improve for you
 






If we agree managers in the midwest need to go, we should talk to HR. Reps in other regions like their managers and RD and they seem to work well together. I wouldnt need an RD working with me if I had a good manager. But my manager sucks and when I call my RD I get no response.I haven't heard my RDs voice on a call in over a month. Havent gotten an email in weeks. Wonder if I can relo? Remind me where the vacancies are please.

Are you new at Genoptix? Find someone -- a senior rep, another DM, and yes another RD to get advice from. The DMs and RDs came up in the organization carrying the bag and know not only the frustrations that go along with a sales job (any sales job) but also the rewards at being a successful rep at Genoptix as well. There are a lot of great people here at Genoptix -- reps and managers but we all have to work together and support each other to keep it going. Reach out to others and you will get all the suppport you need.

Finally some honesty on here. I've always contacted the same RD (yes, unfortunately outside of my own region) and have been grateful for the reliable answers, advice, support, and so on. This IS a great company but as with anywhere there are few people in the wrong positions and a few bad apples.

I and my team has emailed and called our RM multiple times, yet nothing is ever received back. How are we supposed to get better in our efforts if we reach out and nothing happens on the other end. Our RM does return calls/emails to a couple of reps they show favoritism towards.

Saying Always Be Closing is a nice attempt to masquerade as a sales manager. While every rep AND manager should close on each and every call to boil it down to ABC as the answer to what makes a sales person successful is ridiculous and paints you as a true ass clown.

If you can't make your number you need to reach out to your manager and others for advice and assistance. Replacing a rep is time consuming; difficult; and has no guarantee that the next rep will fare better. There is no upside to open territories so saying find another career confirms you as either an ignorant person or an outsider stirring the pot.

When reps do poorly the manager and the company do poorly. Conversely when reps are successful we all shine. Genoptix has always treated its employees great and when we all work together we can make great things happen.

If you are a Genoptix employee give Peter and Bob a chance to shine like the company gave you a chance. Only time will tell so keep a positive attitude; look at what you can do better to positively impact results; and let's see how it all plays out.

For the idiots posting on here not employed by genoptix we have taken in consideration your comments but you don't know our company. For PeteBob, instead of taking a look at every rep within the company, you really should be looking at the dm and rd's here. There still needs to be some cleaning up going on. The reps can't succeed when there are idiot and rogue managers here. Wake up Carlsbad!
 












Hello management... Since Burt left, I understand Tina is looking more closely at what the reps are doing administratively...modules complete, compliance quizzes taken, expenses up to date, calls entered... Please be reasonable about the time frame to complete them, not 1 week notice, which was what some managers have done! Remember some of your DM's don't communicate well.
Since Pete and Bob came on board, ( I am still giving them a chance),I see even more scrutiny going on and less Q of Life. Micromanagement is a choice by DM's. If your reps are honest, sincere, doing their job and making numbers...barely,..leave them alone! Pick apart and help those that need micromanagement or weekly visits from you. Calls regularly going on after 5:00 is not acceptable. neither is travel on weekends! Big Pharma doesn't even do that! Although I see we are now Big Lab Pharma.
Reps may be quitting soon, due to still unattainable goals and stress and pressure, and the warm and fuzzies are gone from years ago. It seems that an unsatisfied "more and more and more" is asked, even when we have exhausted our time and energy. As a rep, if you can't make your goals now, wait and see next year's unattainable goals.
Many are already looking for a new career, and of course not in the same industry. The messages in Legals unprofessional, gloating emails is an embarrassing representation for Genoptix. Point taken, but they need a course in "proper communication".
With this said Genoptix is the best Hem Onc Company, in technical and professional testing, let's make it the best place to work for!

If you can't talk to your DM and RM... because they're selective listeners or hotheads...Button up your lip, keep your head down, and plug away the best you can....while you look for a new career.
