Merck contract pressure...boss is becoming psycho

I would think every decent rep on here does the same thing but apparently, it's not what management expects, hence the 'changes'.

What do you mean "apparently" and what do you mean by the 'changes'. There have been no changes in expectations that I know of. I have been told I am doing great. My whole team was told we are doing great. Sure, we are always asked to be better, but what sales team isn't? Am I missing something?

Did you go to your POD meeting? We are expected to do more calls not the required 24 calls per week. Make up time when you take vacation. Mgt. watching calls, details, etc.. and don't even look at the bonus plan if your numbers are low. Changes started after Steve left.

Hey if your DM is crossing the line, invest $100 in spy gear to wear on ride alongs! Tape that bully boss and document everything. Have other reps you can trust do the same thing. Run this by at attorney to see what is legal in your state. Try to bind together, and sink the DM if he/she is a bully. Tape every conference call and never let them upset you. Never say anything that admits guilt or is not professional. Take the high road and be SMART. THere are plenty of great DM's out there. There are plenty of BULLIES too! Most of the bullies have serious childhood, or family relationship hangups and should be pittied. But they can make your world HELL> Pray about it and GOD will take care of them or HE will open a better door for YOU! I worked for so many great DM's who inspired me, but a couple of BULLIES with issues slipped into the fold, too. Promote them out, spy wear them out, Pray them out, but don't trust whoever hangs out with your DM at meetings or whoever your DM praises. THey are not your friends. Really few reps stick together, everyone is willing to step on your back to keep a job today. Reps need a union!!!! These companies are ruthless and have the BEST lawyers money can buy.

You have some serious issues. Best of luck to you.

My manager makes us (his team) call him from the first office (9am) we go to and from the last office (5pm). Of course, first and last sigs need to match with the first and last offices we went to. Caller ID shows up on his end and that is his way of making sure we are in territory all the way. No need for stupid iPad tracking and all that nonsense.

Oh and I wanted to add that when my manager is in doubt (sometimes the caller ID doesn't show up correctly somehow) he will actually call the number and have the office manager speak to him on the line - just to verify that we are indeed where we say we are. I heard also of another district that their manager plans to require them to use the iPad built-in camera to do a Face Time call twice a day at the first and last offices visited.
