Why would any physician use UPC, when they have to buy leads and the stimulator up front, risk loss due to denials and pay $65 for a lead. I'm not sure what Medtronic will charge per credit or for the grounding pad, but I can guarantee you it will be way south of $65. The only issue that will be the same is getting the patient to come in for 12 consecutive weeks.
Medtronic IS hiring a PCP sales force and in order not to piss off the Urologists, they are going to GIVE them the PTNS unit and only charge them for the reusable lead.

Position Description
The Sales Representative will manage a territory base business and growth by initiating, supporting and developing key accounts with Urology Minimally Invasive Therapies. In certain geographies will also (under direction), will be responsible for developing referral networks, be the account relationship contact for assigned territory’s customer needs including account level reimbursement responsibility. Includes coordination of all support activities and development of sales partnerships with the SNM team to focus on a complete continuum of care (help drive NURO patients to InterStim implanters).
Position Responsibilities
Sell Urology Minimally Invasive Therapy device(s) for specific therapies to physicians, institutions, payors, and other appropriate medical staff; partner with strategic ALF/ILF centers to develop the account practice through; providing product and therapy technical support and service, including consultation at strategic management and analysis of sales trends; utilization of appropriate Neuro business partners to present marketing and business plans to accounts for territory development and growth. Other activities as they arise, as assigned by the sales leadership.
Ensure personal understanding of all quality policy/system items that are personally applicable. Follow all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high quality work.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor degree and 2 years of medical sales experience to include biotech and pharma.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
•Solid knowledge of the Reimbursement climate
•Experience call on physicians in one or more of the following or related referral accounts – Neurology, Physiatrist, Oncology, Internal Medicine, or Primary Care Physician/GP
•Experience in developing new, innovative markets
•Experience in making multiple referral calls on a daily basis
•Solid job skills in business planning/consulting and territory financial analysis
•Knowledge of managed care
•Physiology/clinical therapies
•Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation skills
•Team oriented
•Conceptual/consultative sales skills.
