Massive Layoffs This Week

I feel terrible for the ones who were laid off. It was done in such a cut throat way. I do want to clarify that from the people I have talked to, territories that were performing well, were kept. The pattern was very clear and consistent. There are even vacancies in some areas now.

Well of course there are vacancies. There were lay offs.

Your information is incorrect. Not all territories that were doing well were kept.

The best part is Mike Allen, the SVP of Sales and Marketing, gets $300K/annum to "manage" some outsourced DTC campaign and 30+ Reps (and their managers). Lesson learned: the lowest revenue producer get paid the most.

what total crap....what kind of company does this to people?????

Because corporate lawyers and bean counters are running most pharma companies these days, they are ALL sticking it to their employees this way! They have no heart, compassion or the ability to care about anyone or anything,EXCEPT the profits and making sure they are financially covered! I feel for your loss, but run as fast as you can from these sick people.Good luck! No severance speaks volumes about how slimey they are!!

Holy Crap. I was called about this job. Sold Ambien and knew the market and the tragets. Almost went in for the interview but got an offer with another company. At the time I figured this company I am with had a better product mix and most of all "A BIRD IN THE HAND" made a lot of sense in that situation. Good luck to you all.

Lets all go Occupy Somoxan and bring tents and not leave until they give us our jobs back!

I am sure we can get some of the free loaders who want to protest to tear up the corp head quarters.

No Thanks! Don't want my job back, but I would like to protest the crap about keeping 55% of my last bonus. I earned this, I was above quota, and I am still Bitter! What a horrible thing to do! By the way - thanks Somaxon (Publicis - whoever!) for the crappy printer as our parting gift. I can't wait to burn it in my next bonfire.

sell it on ebay...maybe you'll get something for it

The writing is on the wall. Even the few left are aggressively seeking other jobs. They are not dumb enough to believe they are "safe" AGAIN. Even if they are, who wants to work for the kind of company that tells everyone they are safe on October 3, then lays most of us off less than a month later, and right before Christmas? Plus, the stock is still plummeting, even after laying most of the sales force off to "make a statement to wall street." I think the statement that made was "the end is near."

Ths is BS. We all need to go down and protest! Bring a gas mask in case they try to use tear gas!

Not only did they cut the sales force, but they made the stupidest mistake possible by laying off the one person in the organization who knew what they were doing and could have run the whole organization and made it successful. Yes, that's right - the workhorse of the commercial organization {VK}- one of the smartest and most competent people I've ever known - is also gone - thanks to the management team making yet another really bad decision. She was on point to turn things around - so why on earth did they bring in an unknown who hasn't lasted more than a year at any of his previous companies since 2003 - a real has been for sure {Mike Allen}. Ever heard of him? Didin't think so - no one has. Those left should jump ship before it's too late.

The previous poster mentioned the laying off of "VK" as a huge mistake. You've got to be kidding me! VK was worthless. She had the biggest chip on her shoulder and did a crappy job heading up our speakers program. Please name one thing that she accomplished that was beneficial to Silenor.

Hi Vicki,

Nice try but yaking on CF? I knew you were incompetent but vane also? Oh yes, the ruby slippers and fake tans, that should have been a dead give away.
