Adios! Off to Urovant with many, many others!
Don't let the door hit you on the way out! Adios!
The door is about to hit everyone on their way out come April 1. Get ready.
Reluctantly, I agree something is in the works. Scared we now have a Senior VP who has never been in sales surrounded by yes-people. Less PCP Reps = Larger Territories at Same Pay. Consensus here seems to be 20% to 25% larger Territories. Our family QOL will decline as my drive time increases. After ten plus years, I am spending today updating my resume and LinkedIn profile. Tomorrow, connecting with recruiters on LinkedIn is on the to-do list. Just in case. Sad.

Spoken like a complete and total MORON!! BOOO HOOOO I have to drive a little further to keep my job! Do us all a favor and quit today. Good luck finding pharma companies looking for somebody who wants a smaller territory b/c thats the trend right now with our industry!!! DOPE!!
That trend is % accurate. Decided not to apply to Urovant when I found out their territories are larger than my spec rep's territory. I'll ride this old fashioned PCP sized territory as far as I can. Yeehaw!
Only one PCP spot in Boston. More empty unposted PCP spots nationwide. 1 is not "many".
And to be frank the rescinded that Boston offer. The reason was because said bc the rep did not pass the background check however the person identified many errors on the background from ADP and they went and amended the background. When the person asked for reconsideration the reason was said the decision was final. There is more to this... There has to be something related to a reorg and hiring freeze and used this as a reason to 'get out of 'hiring her. She was better off anyway. This ship is sinking

I will because its true. I can sleep at night, can you?Uh huh. You keep telling yourself that.
Exactly because once they negged the last person they are not reposting- that's suspect at best that there is a freeze and they had no intention on filling that position to begin with. They used a crappy back ground check which was flawed from the agency as a means to turn someone away with no consequence.Just went to external view, Boston PCP posting is no longer there.

Astellas and management can tell everyone the same BS and think we will believe it but the truth is in their actions. They rescinded an offer and when the background was amended they still said no. Lots of issues behind that but the fact this job isn't reposted is suspect and there is absolutely no other job listed in the company so that should have everyone worried.
If my assumptions are correct there is a layoff coming. How can they justify 3 sales teams promoting 2 products PCP/ Spec Spec/ ONC? that's 3 sales forces, benefits, bonus and salaries for 2 products and both that are about to have a major competitors come to play. Even though this hot flash drug is demonstrating seeming good results myrb is about to go off patent leaving again only 2 products and a gap in launch of new drug and no drug...
Pipeline is bleak - too many people in the field. They can definitely weed the garden and still flourish.
The even bigger issue is why do they need all these extended teams and health systems teams... Its all too much of an overhead for 2 products. At least the 2 other stand alone oncology teams have only 1 product but the 3 teams in PCP, SPEC and Xtandi should be concerned. It all doesn't make sense and cannot continue to go on at this pace.
Agreed. The Xtandi team is safe, still need to call on ONCS, plus they will pick up gastric cancer drug. That leaves Spec and PCP to take the brunt of the cuts. This freeze is similar to the freeze a few years back where we eliminated 100 spots from PCP and a number of Hospital spots too.
Pfizer cut their IM reps who called on Uros with Xtandi, now just their Onc team does. We can do the same with Spec Rep's losing Xtandi. Which means how many reps do we need selling a drug going off patent and how many reps do we need selling Fezo? Fezo will be targeted to high writing GYNS and PCPs. Doubt we need 450 spots for that. Most women health teams in the nation are a third to half that size. Don't worry about new competition in OAB, worry about documenting your relationship, value, and sales to the obgyns in our territories.
Couldn't agree more. There are WAY to many PCP and Specialty reps supporting Myrbetriq that's about to go off patent and the new hot flash is too far away to support such a large amount of reps. Not sure if specialty is needed anymore as they are the duplication to both teams and they are paid/bonused more than the PCP teams. They could clearly weed them out and save a boat load of money for the company.
As for PCP teams, they can also be weeded out. Agree that there is no need for over 450 reps to launch an OBGYN drug. Not sure the cost per script for that drug but doesn't seem to be profitable for Astellas to have 450+ reps selling a drug that makes maybe 200 a script. Might be a big cut.
Totally random guess. Spec and PCP merge. One Women's Health Team. 200 Reps, 25 Managers. Large pay raise for PCP reps who don't get sliced.
