I don't get it......dozens of posts about MS and how bad he was and should go....now he's gone and all this pitty. Which is it? I saw they posted the head of sales and marketing.....so I guess this is all temporary anyway. Not sure i understand why they would create all this disruption and not have the new person ready to go at the same time. The sales will be worse than ever, that is for certain......
For every post that said he should go there are plenty of people who don't post on CP and much less to say MS should stay. People like talking about negative things and it makes for better reading.
Do I think MS was perfect, absolutely not. But I do believe his intensions were good and for a manager his overall perspective was to benefit us and to help us grow and succeed. Of course that being said, at the end of the day, he also wanted that bottom line to be met as well. It was all about the reps and it was all about the numbers.
Many people I'm sure are happy that he is gone. Most others sad and surprised. The thing is, as JB's message said-thanking him for his 17 years of service. If you look at MS's track record his has always been a good leader. Perhaps he made some mistakes along the way but who hasn't. But to be where he was for 17 years he had to have done something right. Just look at the past year alone-all these new managers that came and went in a matter of one or two years. There is something to be said for that. In my opinion anyways.
What this all comes down to is that once you have this much change in management and start up this much doubt and uncertainty for a company, nothing good ever comes of that. I had my issues with MS and didn't always see eye to eye with him. But when all is said and done he will land on his feet somewhere else at some point. What I struggle with is that these bafoons running the show rather have someone steer the ship temporarily all the while she can barely handle what she currently does without bitching and moaning about it instead of sittin down with MS to discuss the issues and try to correct them OR I could even see if they were bringing in one of their own. But to cut the ties so abruptly to someone who has been here so long and demonstrated loyalty and loved to schmooze people as much as he did is just incomprehensible. As bad as some of you think he was, and agreed that I personally didn't always see eye to eye with him, but he was well liked out there and these doctors actually like him.
I think the company will be fine for a while. Someone else will come in and look busy fixing things. But some reps will leave and others will stay. They will waste more time hiring and less time having a fully staffed sales field who is out there selling everyday. To my knowledge sales turnover was pretty low. Overall people liked it here. I can assure you many of those attitudes have now changed. Yes in part due to loyalty to him. But on a bigger picture because of the shitty decisions and the negative affect they are having in the field. This is just really become completely unorganized and bad management. U don't let someone like that go without having plan B in motion. This looks very very bad and perception is everything.
