It was called out months ago that more shire reps would be retained than Takeda. I believe the responses were something like “eat shit Shire we bought you”, ‘your sales team sucks” etc, etc. Well, told you so.
I was let go today along with 6 others. Only 4/12 kept, Manager gone too. A lot of districts getting decimated. Seeing the numbers, I'm kind of glad I'm gone. It looks like the territories are going to be huge. More work, less pay overall.
not when you can have a years salary in the bank and other options???Keep trying to convince yourself of that knucklehead. I'd rather have a job with a large territory than no job at all.

I think you’re right. I’m on a new team with some tenured Shire reps and the only ones let go from their old teams were newer hires. My guess is Takeda knows it’s soul crushing for someone calling on psychs solo for 15-20 years to be put on a PC team with partners and they’ll leave.
My Takeda DM was retained, unfortunatly, and he’s pretty green. They were peppering him with questions today and he just glossed over it as usual. I bet they’re gone within 6 months. I don’t blame them, but it sucks because those positions could have gone to displaced reps who were happy to have the job.
guess it depends on the area. everyone I know that has been played off has been better off in the long runYears salary in the bank won’t do yiu any good when your out for 6 months or more and have to settle for a contract job making less and ruining your career/taking a big step back. No thanks to the anxiety... I got out and make a lot more and in the long run I’ll have more $
You are not specialty, specialty is not a pill. Good luck
I am curious as to what age group that most laid off were in? seems in the layoff 2 years ago, the older of the reps may have been cut.Absolute bloodbath in NYC. I’m top 3% in Cresset and was sent out to pasture. Oh well, this is what we sign up for in this industry.
Good luck to all.
I will never understand how these companies approve these crazy alignments from ZS. I was let go Thursday along with a Shire rep who had a solo territory. Now there is one rep in this territory and another driving 3 hours to cover my area. I’m not the only one this has happened too. How does this make sense?[/QUOTE Same situation with me when I lost my job 2 years ago with Takeda. Cut all 3 reps in my territory and 2 reps had to come over 2 hours away to cover it. totally messed up. We were older than the ones left to cover the territory. Are both of you that were let go older than the one they kept?
In our group 50 on up, 4 reps.I am curious as to what age group that most laid off were in? seems in the layoff 2 years ago, the older of the reps may have been cut.
It certainly is! He does this on every pharma site that has a layoff.Cmon..is this the author coming here to promote his book amidst people’s misfortune?
I got let go and was smart enough to get ball rolling a few weeks ago, new start date is April 22.
$110,000 severance
About a month of double dipping
New job at a way better place
Takeda TET teams, you guys messed this one up.
Shire reps were solo territories but not psych only. Mainly PC with psych sprinkled in. At one point, we had PC/Psych/Peds and that made the most sense for multiple reasons. The calls are about the same with each specialty and any decent rep can adapt their call appropriately. Now you’ve given Psych reps huge territories but they’ve also taken ALL of the ADHD volume as well. Also, no rhyme or reason in who got Psych vs PC - sad that your success comes down to an address. They say they’re equivalent but it doesn’t feel that way.
Psych % at Shire depended a lot on your territory (pre- Adult/Pediatric split). Reps in larger cities were heavy psych while others in more rural areas were heavy ped/PC with a few psychs sprinkled in.
All true statements. A friend of mine told me about a book he got when he was laid off last year and it really helped him. I bought it today. Its on Amazon called Acing The Sales Interview. I bought the second edition. I am hoping it helps me. Good luck to all.
Hmmm....Dallas was mainly PC with psych sprinkled in.
