Let go (fired) during training...

They have people in training who think they're cracking the whip like a maniac headmaster. Others who have no clue how to teach or what is on the test.

Let go? Not surprised. Bet the trainer can't pass the test either.

The demo part is just as crazy as the written...

Bottom line.......if you've been selling you know how to do the job with flying colors.

Yeah ? At AZ the training was sub par BS ,but full of self important douches ! Afterwards didn't need 15% of the whole BS to do my job well
 






When I went through training for the onglyza summit contract, a handful of people were fired during training. Most were because they couldn't pass tests, I heard of a couple instances where a rep was just not responsible and drinking too much. So people can and will get fired in training. They give you a couple shots to get things right but if you can't perform in sims, they won't let you go into the field.

That is so weird. Not to worry though... The "real" sales reps couldn't sell it either towards the end, and by real I mean their own people and management.

With a company as screwed up as AZ, you can be fired for saying the wrong thing. I worked for two Big Pharma companies and I had a contract with PSS with Pfizer then AZ, they let people go who could not detail properly!! We had to say every single world correct with each detail. We were expected to pass the exams also. AZ does suck, I left the contract for a device company. I am a Nurse so passing the exams has never been an issue for me. Good Luck! ( stay away from AZ but PSS is a good company!)

i was sent home from training 2 years ago, the doctor said i needed to got my fetus scraped. i so needed to be rid of that dang thing-it might not have lived anyway

I guess if science is your weakness selling pharmacological products to doctors who've spent 12+ years studying science won't be a great move.
 






I think it is the AZ Sims that get you sent home. Any pharma company requires you to pass tests at 80-90%. However AZ does these simulation calls where 'observers' watch thru a one way glass and score you on it, the sim is everything from walking into a fake office setup, getting thru the gatekeeper to detailing the doc and getting a commitment, they use actors, real docs, coroporate people in the sims etc.
 






Are you serious? I just did simulation and it was pathetic.. Self important DMs and reps .. I have years of experience - it was funny .. I had a very "personable " fake doc.. I match his personality as I am personable.. The fake doc then asks me questions that we were not trained on and and something normally a Medical liaison would answer ... I knew the answer by chance and the look on his face that i knew answer was priceless! He then had to criticize me for something.. So he then told me that I was going to piss off serious docs in the field with my "personable" personality ... Really? He said that will not work for everyone so go get a book called "Art of Selling" so I can adjust my personality on serious doctors..if I want to be successful.. . Uh .. I've been a rep 10 years so I do know how to do that but thanks for the insult! Oh and I had more experience than this idiot "doc!"
