Does it exist anywhere in this company?
If you feel it does, where?

To be a leader you need experience and knowledge of your market. The appointed leaders in MAH CA have neither.
Oh come on, you are going to hurt Jeff's feeling. If you look weasel up in the dictionary you will find a wonderful picture of him.
It is not only Jeff. RM has hired RM's that will say yes to whatever she wants. Look at the number of field managers hired without any animal health experience. It is unheard of. Hiring an individual to lead a sales team when the individual has no knowledge of the industry, the products or the competitors. It is utterly insane. How cam a regional manager grow a rep when the manager has no idea what the rep should be doing?
It is more a mystery as to how the person Robin reports to allows her to continue destroying the CA sales force. God almighty make this Robin go away.
I was optimistic too. However, I find it somewhat discouraging that JH, as nice and down to earth he seems to be, is always telling the sales force he is still learning. We need a strong leader that will take control of the pitiful mess that is the management team and marketing for that matter.
If you think JH is nice and down to earth, then you are a piss poor judge of character. He is part of the pitiful mess that you are talking about.
We lose reps because there is no pride in working for Merck. No teamwork, few friendships, little empowerment, lower compensation than competitors. Oh - and idiotic bureaucracy.
It is not just leadership at the CA level - it is the culture, which is demoralizing and pathetic.
Why don't you all quit and go find a "better" job. Tell me the perfect company to work for? Zoetis? Reports, pressure, market share pressure, etc. Novartis? Just back in the game. Pipeline has a few niche products in it, but they will be financially hurt. Momma Novartis has been funding them for a while! Merial? Do I reall need to explain that one? Elanco? Glory days are winding down. Extreme growth is not happening every year. Not sure about pipeline. BI? Becoming more micro-managed, too. Distributors? Benefits suck, margins squeezed, enough said. Good luck. Go to the human size where everything is perfect.

Really? Is that the only suggestion you have? "If you don't like it, lump it?" as the old mentality went.
How about instead we all read this board and recognize that we have a serious morale problem to address at Merck? How about we send RD and SB a copy? Whether some people like to hear it or not, this acrimony has been rampant here for years. We can do one of three things:
1 - Pretend it doesn't exist (what we have been doing)
2 - Endlessly complain about it (also what we have been doing - though many have little power to do more than this)
3 - Acknowledge it and change it. RD gave lip service to this, but no one else in upper management has any commitment toward it.
Reality is reality - Our company culture is demotivating and deplorable to many who work here. Changing it is the only answer for those of us who are still here.
You definitely need to look for another job. You are bitter!
