Think about it.

Let’s take CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT. Customer is a good word, it’s the person that uses and pays for your product. ENGAGEMENT is also a nice sounding word meaning “an arrangement to meet or be present at a specified time and place.” Now, in reality, what has customer engagement really meant at Genentech? Well, “clinical specialists” or reps meeting with customers is outdated, doesn’t work, and the share of voice model is dead....so let’s lay you, the reps, off because you’re no longer needed! Discarded like last nights’ trash.

funny how we have come to realize that “customer engagement” has come to mean we need less of the people who meet with customers, huh?

it’s also kinda funny how they explain it to us. How Genentech is going to change the industry! Funny when I talk to friends outside Genentech they ask me, “aren’t you just restructuring / layoffs because of biosimilars? We did that X years ago when we had X patent cliff too.”

Let’s be honest. We played it safe and stayed with what we knew. Played along with the MF mindset cult voodoo nonsense and are now asphyxiating on our own decision. They picked us for being mindless and easily manipulated. People scrambling to join those ridiculous interview classes. Ha! Joke is on us.

I interviewed with them for a TAM job hoping to join one of the best companies in this industry. At least that was what I thought! If you did not get the job, consider yourself very lucky!! At least Jim Jones was a charismatic leader. We have used car and snake oil salesmen, incense-burning gurus, heterosexual haters and butchers in our management. No one has a clue or future here.

Exactly right, "pride comes before the fall." With the jokers in charge, this will haunt and follow them into the future. They will be known as the elitist dumb asses who believed every other company would follow their lead. I believe it was Alexander Hardy on stage at NSM that said the industry has a herd mentality and everyone is watching Genentech to lead the way. The real take away is when stupid, progressive, rainbows and unicorns schmucks lead the way, they fall off a very high cliff..

AH is as clueless as they come. Anything he says on or off the stage is basically inconsequential. When you are doing something special and innovative, others will follow. When you are doing something stupid, well, you know how that goes. Being stupid and arrogant at the same time is detrimental.
 






100% this will be deleted however, NO journey line demonstrated an individual who married a man "in a church" who was already married and had another family. Stunned when it was displayed and explained multiple launch failures since. No axe to grind, just a factual statement. She seemed more disgusted it was in a church than her own stupid nativity.

The new (or what’s left of the old) leadership is responsible for creating a toxic, mind numbing environment and telling us how great it is and how happy they are about everything that is taking place. We are leading the industry! It’s gaslighting at its finest. Maybe there’s a course on it in Cornerstone they all had to get certified in as part of their “on boarding”
