Former Novartis rep here. our layoffs stated it was based on last 2 year ratings, geography and tenure. That was the biggest lie next to the other 3 biggest lies (checks in the mail, we are not having layoffs, your best interest is in our mind, I love you, etc, etc). The kept people with "1" ratings over 2's and 3;s, and then kept people with equal ratings, 5 yrs or less tenure, lower base salaries, and yes youger, and did not live in the geography (oh, did I mention they were diversity candidates?) This was all done by an outside co with "Six Sigma" graduates, that looks at who costs the company too much in salary, bonus, disability, sick days, accomodations, etc, etc down to probably how many sheets of toilet paper you use when you wipe your behind.
In other words-- it was all contrived, and mostly ass kissers were kept. We all need to get over this mis-treatment, descrimination, and working for companies that operate illegaly (off label, descrimination, harrassment, etc) and find jobs with smaller companies that treat you as a person and reward you for what you do; not a number and who's butt you kiss.Dont believe a word they say- read between the lines. Take the Severance and RUN! GOOD LUCK ALL!
