Fucking move on people!! Look around you. Pharma companies are all in trouble. There was nothing wrong with what they did. Get over it. It sucks, but you had an easy job for a long while so be thankful.
 


















Many highly tenured high performing senior employees let go. For those of us with 20+ years with this company the treatment we received was very disappointing. That's the problem when any organization that brings in individuals who have no history here, who don't value the contribution of the people who drove the business over their careers. The problem with American business goes deeper than Pharma, bottom line greed, cut compensation etc. If you look they pretty much made the final cut to any type of pension program that the tenured people were grandfathered in on. Get rid of us and they save millions of dollars both in front end compensation through salaries and benefits, as well as millions in back end pension payouts. Just plain greed, not selling as much, hit by generic penetration and multiple lawsuit payouts, but no way will they take hit on profits. I for one will boycott any Swiss Made products or services for the rest of my lifetime. Time for all of us to put pressure on our government to regain the integrity and morality of American Business, not just for us but for our children and future generations.
 






STD, LTD, time enough to call ATTY and use EEOC. How bout dem acronyms! Sure beats WPT, DAM, TAN, MIR,, FCR, DM, RD, WPT, and all of the other letters of the alphabet that spell BULLSHIT. If it looks like bullshit and it sounds like bullshit, and managers cannot serve it up with conviction and knowledgable information, it can only be bullshit.

Good commentary, but in the end you got cut by the swiss army knife you carried for years. The truly fascinating thing is you will likely take two to three years to secure another position which will pay 40% to 60% less than your final comp at nvs. Sad but true.

This is total B S. I left Novartis years ago and I'm still getting letters updating me on the pension plan. Once you are vested in the Plan, there really is no other reason to stay at Novartis.
 






Found out that Novartis let go of almost 300 people more than they needed to because they wanted to let these people go. Mark my words. In a few months you will see them hiring from the outside.

They have established a pattern of hiring from the outside right before a layoff and again immediately after a layoff. Do not look at this specific layoff as a unique event. Look at the similarities between the past 5 layoffs and you will see the payoff for Novartis. They have done a great job of lowering the average wage and avoiding paying retirement benefits.
