Lantheus Medical Imaging

First shoe to drop is the radiology indication for Bracco. My guess is to look for a big introduction at RSNA this fall. Second shoe to drop will be ALL the Lantheus "hanger-oners", wishing good riddance to Peter, Brad and Dave, who will now be politicking, positioning and cajoling for positions with "Blue Earth". Will the last one out please turn off the lights?

Gotta love how LMI offers a "promotion" without increase in pay....
Oh, but it's good for the resume....maybe, only if you are looking for a new job...FOOL!!!
Good Luck cashing in on the never ending empty promises!!

A typical Lantheus sales rep counting their precious vials. My vials! My precious vials!

This is the look of a horrible ASP and NO BONUS $$$$!!!!

The problem with any LMI acquisition is that there is still a massive outstanding bond and only one product, Definity. The revenue just isn't there. flurpiridaz is promising but nobody has any stomach to invest in PET, and if someone did they would do a cash and carry on that product, not an investment. LMI not only had no people left to do the development, but they sold off all their R&D assets. It's just a shell at this point.

They can carry on as long as they can keep the cash flowing > liabilities, but it's just a matter of time and they know it. That's why LMI is so willing to trade anything for revenue.

What will ultimately sink them is when some capex crisis comes along and they can't cover it OR when they can't continue to get revenue by dropping prices. Look how raising Xe prices is working out for them. Hint- others are coming back to the market.

They actually deserve a lot of credit for keeping the ship afloat as long as they have, but it can't go on forever without bringing a new product to market. I suspect that's why Bailey left so abruptly. He knows his shares will never come to anything.

What I do wonder is what keeps SR, CO, and BD there. They have to know it's a house of cards- regardless of whether you respect them or not. All the other exec levels have turned over, but not them.

SR is bidding his time in a "do nothing go nowhere position". He hasn't been there as long as many of the ole timers but has adopted the same hang on till it's over mentality. CO is in a revolving door position. He'll leave or be forced out soon enough. BD, what a piece of work. Was unqualified for the position he's in from the get go. Has made plenty of mistakes but blamed them on others or was able to cover them up. He has screwed up far more than most people are aware of. His first order of business was to get rid of anyone that could threaten his survival and surround himself with suck up's or whimps. That strategy has worked out well for him. He's a head case and is a "big fish in a small pond"... Just the way head cases like it. He's not going anywhere cause he'd have to actually prove himself competent, which he's far from. He's tucked in a fetal position but pretends to strut around like a peacock.

That last statement is not fair to the Peacocks!

If you worked with Peter you would understand why folks would line up to work with him again. If you worked for Peter you would understand why they would want to do that again. He always treated you fair, and respected the contribution you made no matter what your role. LMI then replaced him with the complete opposite with Hibbered. A more pompous arrogant SOB would be difficult to find. There's a saying that you can tell a lot about folks by the way they treat their waitress, well to him his department were all waitress's. Dave and Brad were also good guys. ( they both had their moments, but on the whole good guys) ...what I find odd is the demise of LMI has been talked about like "it's any minute" but how can it be any minute when it has been thought of that way over five years.

Agree that Peter, Dave, and Brad are all stand up guys. Just good blokes.

I also must confess that I can't explain how LMI has kept the lights on this long. It's pretty remarkable.

That said, there's no future that I can see, and at some point it has to crash.

Profits are less than 25% of what they once were. it's now an inconsequential player in the industry but can keep limping along if it can maintain a nostril above water. The objective is to hang on long enough to eventually dump it off, and so far they're hanging on. Anyone that thinks there's a real future for them there is crazy. But then again, most still there are playing the same "hang on till it's over" game. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Let's think about what they have:

The cyclotrons are ancient, and back when they had talent they did all the engineering, maintenance, upgrades, etc. themselves. Now they haven't got that talent, and the cyclotron vendors have told them that they (the vendors) can't maintain them without a massive and expensive process to bring them back in line with the vendor's specifications. So they are running a huge liability there. On top of that, the vaults are so hot that they represent a massive cleanup liability, so getting out of the facility is essentially impossible.

They only have one product left with any legs, and that's Definity. Definity's patent will expire in a few years, and then what have they got? Maybe they can limp along on residual Definity sales and generators for a couple of years, but it won't get any easier. Where is the growth?

They fucked themselves with Xenon, raising the price until it brought a competitor back into the market. So good job putting $30 million at risk.

They haven't advanced any of their clinical products one inch in three years. That's forever, and in the meantime some competitive products have caught up. So the opportunity for products like the cardiac PET tracer is diminished.

Their spend on capex has been reduced to where every day the lights turn on is a small miracle. When you stop maintaining your facilities, it becomes an odds game. Maybe you'll get away with it for years, but any day could be the big failure.

So, I assume most of the Phoenix Rising comments are trolling, which is all good fun, but are there any true believers here that have a thought out counter point?

Honestly, who gives a shit.
How long is this long national nightmare going to go on. These poor pukes are just trying to hang on. Would you blame them? Let's move along folks, nothing to see here. Most of them have kids in college. It's a dying modality. Can we have a moment of peace? Then we can piss on their grave. I have my own issues with them but they don't get a wink of my sleep.

It's a blog where people give their opinions. You can agree, disagree or be neutral about what's stated, or anything in between for that matter. So, give a shit, don't give a shit is up to you. personally I don;t think anyone is losing any sleep the whole hot mess...but that's just my opinion.
