Lab Corp Up For Sale!

If you work in HealthCare and you support Obama. Just put a gun in your mouth. why because you are commiting suicide. i have sold in Canada, england and Sweeden. Because of what are called "Tenders", that have to be approved by the government...for EVERYTHING, most of the time the deal closed with very little room for profit. Why do you think German based business brag whne they raise $1 Million dollars (American) for "Venture Capital". In the US no one brags at less then 10-15 million. The smaller amount barely keeps them afloat. so they come to the US and sell in our market.

Only one year, did I only cober Europe. I had a base of $75K US. I was at $4 million in sales, which was a little over 107% of goal. I made $35K in commish.

I moved back to the US was at 96% in the Mid-West sold 2.7 Million, had the same base for arguments sake and made $62.5K in commish.

The truth is that all politics aside. National Health Care not only will not let a 75year old man get prostate cancer treatment. If he is a retired Medical Rep, it will make sure he can not afford to pay for it if he so chooses.

I happen to believe that healthcare is a right, and should be nonprofit.

I happen to believe that healthcare is a right, and should be nonprofit.
If that's what you believe then the public should also have the right to demand people stop smoking, and eating till they are overweight. If my money should have to pay for someone else's abuse then they have to abide by certain rules. Surely you are not going to say that it would be fair for the person who eats right, works out, treats their body like a temple should pay tons more money in taxes to pay for the heavy drain that people who don't do this put on the system do you? A lot of health care costs could be greatly reduced if people took better care of themselves. There will allways be people through no fault of their own have higher health care costs and most people don't have a problem helping those people out but what about those people that want to do nothing to help themselves and yet put this heavy tax burden on everyone else? If healthcare is a right then we have a right to expect more out of them too. Othweise we can have nearly free healthcare to all just like in some countries but instaed of a 15-30% income tx you can try living with a 70% income tax since that's what other countries have to do. Yeah, I didn't think you wanted that.

Understand the thought and sentiment you express. However, the uninsured and underinsured are already baked into the systems cost structure. One way or another they get paid for. The real issue is how to cover health care costs. yes, we all should be covered; anything else is in-humane. Providing care for other human beings should not necessarily carry a salary of half a million dollars. So there is the rub. Too many MDs want to alter the landscape to make more money rather than provide better care. As for the for profit companies; well they are for profit companies. Maximizing profit is the goal. It should be maximizing care.

You know - I am tired of all the political bullshit! I am inundated on television, radio, and internet pop-ups all day. What happened to the original subject of this string?

No the uninsured and underinsured are not already baked into the system costs. Your theory that healthcare should be a not-for-profit industry is a joke. There is NOTHING in this country that runs well that is no-for-profit and be a world leader. The simple fact is that when you don't get rewarded for taking chances and working hard you move on to an industry that will. The US does have the best healthcare system because of our system. I don't see people from the US going up to Canada to have tests run and surgery. Nope you see those people coming south to the US to have their medical needs met because the broken system can't take care of them.
The people of the United States used to be amoung the tallest in the world and now we are not even in the top 10. The problem is poor diet and lack of exercise. We are amoung the fattest people. We allow more and more people to come up with an excuse that they are too fat to work when they could work if they would simply eat less and exercise or better get get an extra job. These same people that want us to support them also strain the medical system by going to the ER for colds and routine problems and of course never paying for anything. Maybe you want to pay 70% taxes but I sure don't and its not doctors greed that is driving up healthcare costs.

that is

That is your opinion. Why are healthcare costs in the US higher than any other country if what you think is the case? For a couple of reasons. It is because uninsured/underinsured patients show up in emergency where the costs are the greatests and the hospital must cover them by raising the fees to payors. Additionally, there is the profit motive of these insurance companies who only exist to make a profit. Profits are enhanced by denying coverage and these excess profits go to pay for marketing, stockholder dividends, and executive's salaries. How many premiums do you think it takes to pay a CEO's yearly salarie of $20 mil +? Every year we pay more for less. If you are serious about analyisis and understanding all sides of an issue, always look up and stop looking down. When you look down, you only victimize yourself.

The answer is Medicare for all.

I cannot believe how uninformed you are and yet you speak with such authority. You and your false sense of pride. What do you do, just dream this stuff up. What makes you think this country has the best medical system in the world? You obviously have not been anywhere else. Where do you think the US places among other countries of the world when it comes to infant mortality as a way of measuring health care performance? So what do you think about the government run VA hospitals? They work quite well. Social Security has never missed a payment. The US Postal Service is only in trouble because of the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act of 2006 (a ruthless tactic that the Bush administration came up with to privatize the Post Office and steal the pension funds ).

Did you know that the USA is the only country in the civilized world that allows anything other than nonprofit insurance companies? Yes, other countries have privately owned insurance companies, but they must be nonprofit.

Where is it written that the only reason anyone would share their talents and gifts is to strike it rich? That is not the case. And for those of you who do feel that way, you should find another field to work in. And you would have to be pretty shallow to believe that. I could give you loads of examples but if you don't know this by now, you are a super late bloomer.

Ha Ha Ha
You just lost all credability when you tried to defend the post office and their problems are not due to the Bush adminstration. Enough said. You lose.

Actually, you are both extremely pathetic losers. You and anyone else who cannot understand that your moronic political arguments are not only pointless, but that THEY DON'T BELONG HERE. There must be 10,000 places on the internet that you can have your silly debate. GO AWAY!

Stinkin' Liar:

LLoyd's of London: "In 2009, over £21.97 billion of gross premium was transacted in Lloyd's, and it achieved a record pre-tax profit of over £3.8 billion."

Actually, I can understand their arguments. Also, the political spectrum, particularly the candidates’ platforms, is immensely tied to this thread.

Keep the debate going you two.

Nope, you got that wrong Dipshit. I doubt the two posters involved in this interesting (albeit over your head) debate would respond to your inane posts. And I promise this is the last time I will.

yup. mmmkay. You are so enamored with someone else's moronic political bs that you post twice to defend it. Yep - you are definitely not either one of the posters. You DO realize that there is actually a political forum RIGHT HERE ON CAFE PHARMA??!! It's under general discussion, and you and your idiot buddy can get your rocks off all day long and fight with hundreds of morons like yourself. And you will no longer have to hijack other threads.

And this motherless monkey clamors on as the two original debaters wait for a substantive response.

Oh, you want it to be me. I get it. You’re an angry stupid little man who (as it seems) is frustrated with your hapless life. Continue to throw you feces little monkey. I know you need that release.

LOL Hello. Is there anyone home? I did not realized that I had to spell out Health Insurance Companies since that was the topic . Other countries have private Health insurance companies, but they must be nonprofit. It is considered inhuman to profit on the suffering of another human being. Jeeze.

Where have you been living? Under a rock. The Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act (2006) requires the Postal Service (the only agency private or public) to fund its pension fund for 75 years in advance within a period or 10 years. Every year they have to come up with billions in order to comply with this law which was designed to bankrupt the Post Office so that it may be privatized and the pension fund stolen. 75 years in advance is funding for employees who have not been born. This would be laughable if it were not so sinister and overtly so.

The US Constitution tried to protect the Post Office, acknowleging its necessity.
