KCI to aquire Systagenix

I can hear the foot steps of the JP's running back to us!

No you can't. This sort of comment really speaks to the lunacy of Cafe Pharma. Jamie and Joel both left KCI and Systagenix of their own accord. Jamie has done great at Zoll where he manages 4 times the number of people that he had at Systagenix and Joel has happily moved back to Dallas as the VP of marketing with Novation. Neither needs or wants to be back in wound care or with KCI. They both moved on to better places and everyone on this board should consider the same. Game over.

never heard of a joke I see.

I disagree. KCI will be acquiring great talent in our people. Our sales teams are the best in the industry! We have managed to sell our products despite customers not knowing our company name nor our products. We managed to sell in acute despite a marketing department built around post acute. We managed to sell in acute and wound care centers despite a skeleton sales & marketing budget. We encountered more obstacles, barriers and directional changes than most sales forces endure in their careers.

Be proud of yourselves and hold your head high!

If you were safe then you would have been told that. KCI is. Brutal organization to work for. Get out now!

OMG, this is a bunch of crap and is obviously someone from corporate posting the board. Thanks for the encouragement, however, we are not stupid and know you need us until the paperwork is complete between the two companies and everything transitions smoothly for you and you get your whopping huge bonus incentive check. Someone hit the nail on the head when they said if KCI wanted us, we'd already know.

As a long term KCI rep, run far and run fast. With our new VC owners, you don't want to be here. As for KCI reps not knowing how to sell "real wound care products", we live in the OR and WCCs. In addition to knowing our own NPWT & biologic products, we have to know other products used in conjunction with the VAC. I assure you, it will be easier for us to learn the Systagenix product line than for you to learn the KCI lines. Enjoy the next few months!

Again two turds coming together only equals a bigger turd that is begging to be flushed and plunged away.

You live in the OR? Is that after regular working hours or something? Do you have a hobby or a part time job that takes you to the OR?

If you don't know your way around an OR or WCC by now, it's evident you will soon have plenty of time for both hobbies and part time jobs. Maybe Medline will have an opening for you...

I worked for both KCI and Systagenix. 99% of everything that I know about wound care, I learned at KCI. If you think you know something about wound care, because you've had Systagenix training- think again. It's like comparing Graduate School (KCI) to High School (Systagenix). KCI sends acute care reps to training at Medical Schools. Systagenix sends reps to training in a small room in Quincy MA.
And the foolish comment about being in the OR?? I spent plenty of time in the OR at KCI. Every week. I regularly met and presented to the Trauma Depts at Teaching Hospitals, in addition to ALL OR staff. The closest you would get to an OR at Systagenix was the graft. Not too many sold, so I'm guessing that there's not much exposure to an OR. You're obviously confused about "Acute" vs "Post-Acute" although even the Post-Acute reps at KCI spent real time in the OR.

Systagenix will be gone...One Equity got what they wanted; a wound care product they can bid out and make money on with no sales force. All sales reps should run and find a job with a good company. Wound care is dead...all about price. And no one on here truly understands an OR job till your phone rings at 2am and a case can not go of till you are there. The times of making $250k+ are almost done in the med world...good luck to everyone.

You're a dumb ass. Wound care is the least respected field in the OR....To all: go work for a real company in a real med field.

Sure, genius, except for the Wound VAC. You would know that if you had ever assisted a CT surgeon, residents and Fellows, in placing one over a heart. You're confused. Or ignorant. Let me help you: The "OR" is actually the "Operating Room." Now maybe you can follow the signs better.

I agree with you! The other poster is an idiot!

I wonder if KCI realizes that they just picked up the greatest fluid retention system in the world? The last 5 years selling Tielle have been enlightening for sure but most of all a true pleasure. Learning how to present it and how to in service it took time, but oh the rewards! I'm so proud to have taken the ride with Tielle and I truly believe that it will take KCI to new heights. Will you join me?
