Januvia sales tanking

Daily Finance report that Januvia's sales are sliding. No finger pointing. Who the heck would want to their job in this environment.

You are all a bunch of idiots...with all this competition and Januvia #1 who else do you think they will snipe! Of all these wonder drugs that work better than Januvia is any one of them as safe...easy to give...give to more folks...hell no! Januvia was never supposed to get to 2B$ in sales anyway...Galvus was supposed to be #1 and we were to be alsorans so all these asshole marketing folks who were not here for the start are sweating bullets when Januvia has done a hell of a job (thanks to field sales and in spite of marketing). We've had seven new competitors in new classes even and held on to a lions share of our market! Be greatful for what you have idiots and hang on to all the market share you can...nobody really works better and just think about the safety of Victoza and Invokanna...we really have little to fear in the long run..so a bunch of idiot Endo's get distracted...sell what's in your bag!

I'm a 25+ year rep asshole not a CTL and I've sold more medicine by accident than you and all the CTL's have put together! Like he said……empty head. How can you possibly take this "career" seriously? When you're toting in your doughnuts dressed like you're going to a wedding, glad handing everyone with that big, fake smile on your face, being treated like a peon all the while---by your customers and your CTL----knowing full damn well that you performance measurement is a sham and that you've never actually sold anything in your life. When does that reality hit you? If it hasn't yet hit you after 25 years, then your head is as empty as they come. Merck loves reps like you!

Time will tell. Jan 6th cuts are for hq. Field positions to be annihilated by 3-31. Merck third party consultants layed it out. Field reps should be paid 60k per year and ctl's 85k. Merck agrees with the findings and get ready to be rebadged (look it up on hr site). The Disneyland days are over. Think really hard, if this was your business would you pay a rep 100k and a ctl 150k? Shoot, that is actually on the low end. The who you know and time served days are over. Be prepared friends. Loyalty is gone and they have-will make cuts with 24 hours notice. Ask around but most importantly, take care of numero uno. Under 100% ppo for 2 years? Gone. Job share? One person gets it full time. Vaccine HSC? Gone 3q unless you have credentials. PIP? No more, Merck to enforce At Will employment terms. Memos in your hr file? You are gone. Managed market analysis of territories=white space = your gone. 15-20k to be severed from mother come 14'.

There will be two categories of work in this biz. Baseline work which will be much more mechanical and hence lower-skilled and lower-paid. But there will be ups and downs associated with launching products. These will result in 1-2 year surges in employment that will require skilled and experienced (and better paid) workers. Once that urgency dies down, their contract ends and they are on their own. Perfect for those that already have money set aside and are willing to work hard from time to time. But not a sustainable career path. And the pool of experienced reps will dry up and be replaced by those that are not clever enough to realize that they have entered a dead-end wage-pressured career. There are not many well-paid Coca Cola reps but there are few people associated with marketing that make mega money whenever Coke decides to launch something. The money in this biz will be in those that can job shop reps, not money directly to the reps.
