It's happening! New offer from Ackman. New horizons.

Any division that has multiple reps calling on the same physician will be cut considerably. For example, if you have 4-5 reps calling on an Ophthalmologist or Plastic Surgeon that number will go down to 1 or 2.

Actavis will look at a situation like Aesthetics, where you have a skincare rep, an injectables rep, an implant rep, a recon rep, etc and I can tell you that number will be slashed to one, maybe two reps. Same thing for marketing.

So yes, they generally spare research and product engineers, but they will streamline sales and marketing.

But isn't that basically what Forest Labs has and they kept that silly pod structure in place? From what I know Forest has the same 4 or 5 reps basically calling on the same docs in small territories with the same 3 products.

Not only that they've never dealt with something the size and scope of Allergan.

How would they deal with Neuro in which you have Hospital calling on big institutions, CM and NR calling on the same offices, and Reimbursement Practice Specialists calling on all of it but doing reimbursement and practice administration? I would assume CM/NR would merge do you thing they would merge hospital team as well and what about ReimbursementPractice team which is probably the most senior?

What in the hell is wrong with you? Who really cares? You sound like a freak. Whatever they do, the laid off employees will get severance. If you get laid off, FIND ANOTHER JOB. You really need to grow up and stop speculating all this nonsense. Most of us are not worried about how they will restructure post buyout. If you are "good", other companies will want you.

You sound pathetic.

Take it easy pal. No need to get nasty with me. I'm just concerned with my job that's all.
It's not that easy to find another job and I know some really "good" people that have not been able to find a job it's a brutal job market out there and there are too many of us. I know Forest well and their people are not very "good" and they all kept their job over the Actavis legacy folks.

Isn't speculation, rumors, bitching, what this site is all about? I don't want to burden my wife with this nonsense so I figure I could come here and speculate. Seriously take it easy if you hate the content of this site then don't come on and read it.

Actually if you have results and know how to SELL the job market is really good.

yea ok hotshot . . . keep telling yourself that. Get a clue

This person has a point. There are jobs out there for the motivated. There are so many complacent people here at Allergan it makes me sick. Many sit and watch the sales pour in and when they don't do well,... They are full of excuses.

If you can sell, there are plenty of jobs out there. If you're lazy and you just want to collect a check, join 70% of Agn salesforce.

I don't like Valeant but $200 a share is a really good price. Without a merger or someone buying us I don't see how our share price will get anywhere close to $200 anytime soon.

Yup, go look at a 1 year chart of Shire. They blew away earnings during their merger talks, even still look at the dropout once the deal fell through.

We might be better than we were in march, but to think our stock doesn't take a huge plunge if this deal doesn't happen is Naive. 200 a share is a big premium. I'd be surprised if this deal doesn't happen now.

your posting to yourself. The plunge in shire happend after a deal (a good one) was negotiated, and agreed to. Then tax inversion laws caused Abbvie to back out.

Apples and oranges. Good effort though

Our stock was trading at $116 prior to the offer. $200 is a great deal. That is a 72% premium. Our PE ratio is in the 40's traditionally its half that.

What has changed so dramatically in our business since April 10th? Nothing has changed don't kid yourself. If anything management (at least from a sales rep perspective) is as crazy as ever with all the ride days and micro managing. If this offer doesn't go our stock is going to crash back towards $120 range. I have no idea what Valeant really has to offer for us as employees but that doesn't change the fact that $200 is a great premium on our stock price. Which since I don't really have any stock doesn't matter to me. But it probably will matter to those that vote in December- these investors and hedge funds have NO loyalty. They aren't going to give a rats ass about the future because it is going to take a LONG time for our stock to ever see the $200 range. We are talking years not months.

My only hope if we get bought is that our sales management/culture changes for the better assuming i keep my job. If I don't end up keeping my job......well I guess it will be a good reason to leave. I realize that the majority of people posting on cafe pharma only are thinking about keeping a job- hopefully more of you will come to the same realization that I did- its not really that great here in the first place. $200 is a helluva premium for our stock.

I agree with everything the poster above said except I don't think the stock goes all the way back to $120. I believe if the deal fell through it would fall to $140. Everything else is spot on.
