Interviewing with Publicis

I did not get a follow up email. Can you share exactly what it said?

Did it come from the recruiter?

It came from the internal recruiter, and asked my work and education history in Ohio and Mass - whether I had worked their or gone to school there in the last 7 years. (I don't live in either state)

Tomorrow? Interviewing still going on til Friday. Looking at next week for any decisions and supposedly offers out by next Friday.

Could be, I interviewed with him about 3pm and he had received the email that morning canceling skype interviews and notifying him that the candidates would speak with his boss, however, he didn't know any further details. Said I could be speaking to his boss 24-72 hours? But was unclear what the time frame would be. Let me know if you hear anything today.

the recruiter who emailed me shared with me how the hiring manager felt about the interview. I was also told that their will be a call with the national sales director with the 1 candidate chosen. Recruiter said when he has more information he will let me know the time, date etc. Recruiter also said the plan is to hear something between Monday and Tuesday of next week with offers on Friday. Last item was asking the same 2 questions you mentioned.

My interview was Monday and that is when hiring mgr got email. I know as when I said I had been told Skype cancelled and made comment that this would be the only interview he shared he got email that morning about the phone call to another touchpoint person but at time did not know if it would be 1 or 2 candidates moving forward. obviously as of today, know it is only 1 person getting picked for call.

someone on the thread neuro contract under publicis is claiming they interviewed today which is true as interviews going on today out west. But they claim they were the only candidate and got the job. I suppose that's possible but wonder what are the odds only 1 candidate interviewing in a territory for a good paying specialty position?

Would like to find out what territory and more details...

I also interviewed for the MS specialty position. I think with the same guy (he live is in IL?) Seems like he would be great to work for...and we all know your boss makes or breaks it. I currently have a job, but they had layoffs last Thurs and will probably have more. The layoffs on Thurs were not announced, we were not told to wait by our phones, they just called the people and let them go, had a national teleconference later in the day to let the rest of us know what was going on. So "contract" sales sounds the same as what I have now!! Only I might actually respect my boss, learn something from him, learn a new disease state and hopefully be able to help some patients. $600 a month sounds great, I'm tired of driving big pharmas crappy bottom line cars...let me own my own car and my kids can also drive it! I've been in big pharma and smalll pharma...I'm just looking to ride the wave to the end, and maybe that will get me close to retirement age (as long as I stay specialty). All in all, this sounds like a great opportunity. (I was also told 85-90k starting salary - which is on par for specialty). Good luck to you, hope I see you in March! For the rest of you that are so negative...go find something to be positive about...maybe it's time to switch careers.

Ya, we will switch careers and be our own boss.

Thanks for reminding me why I hate pharma!

Namely, because I have to "worry" about whether or not my manager is a jackass. Oh wait, I took the job with this manager, but now he got promoted, and here comes a jackass new manager. It probably has happened to all of us with experience, and its stinks.

Again, thanks for reminding me!

God Bless You!

Guessing your complaints about pharma have more to do with other things and not just a "boss" issue as you'll have to learn to work with those in whatever profession you work in. I am hoping based on your comments about pharma that you have found something that appeals to you more, if not, well geez find something else. It may not pay as much or have a great benefits but if you use the word "hate" that says a lot and you should assess your future options.

Some are lucky and have had good managers and see this job in a good light. I have come to hate this industry because of the liars that are in it, from the top to the bottom.

When you reach the point of "hating" what you do, move on. You're going to be disappointed, though. There are liars in every field of business.

Best of luck with your new career.

Very true. Publicis is probably the least professional of all the contract companies. I have worked for 3 and it's the worst.

Bullcrap, I've worked for the 3 biggest and they are just as crappy as the 3 Big Pharma's i worked for who have now become crappy themselves. It's a job, not a party anymore.

It's a business, sales people are expendable. Obamacare is costing everyone and they are cutting back. they all are treating employees like crap because there are thousands out of work and they can get away with it by finding someone hungrier.

Well if the UCB NeuPro contract is any indication - dont expect to last or enjoy the ride while you are here. Not evey contract is good, most are less then average and trunover is high
