Good thread, and I agree with previous posters. Take the Xerox job, then move into device or capital equip after a few yrs. You'll have real sales #s then and will be more attractive to those companies (Stryker, Medtronic, etc)
Those are true "run your own business" jobs making 4x the money, and you won't even get an interview coming from pharma. They are looking for people with real sales experience and decision making ability. Even if you're the best salesman in the world, nobody would know if coming from Forest because you don't have the ability to make any decisions. They tell you who to see, what to say, when to eat, how many samples to leave, etc etc. Micromanagement at its finest. Sucks the soul right out of you.
Take the advice we all wish we had -- stay in true sales until you can get to capital / med device. The rest of us were so short sighted, we're stuck in pharma. Good luck.
