Have an interview at a job fair coming up. I have done a TON of research on all key rx's, and am very comfortable interviewing.

I did 9 months of door-to-door sales after college. Made 40k and it was 100% commission to give you an idea of my skillset. It is my only sales experience though.

Is there anyone willing to help with anything else I should prepare for? I know FRX would be a terrific place to get my feet wet. Seems the pipeline is loaded and Viibryd seems very exciting.

But, am I qualified enough? Or should I take the gig at Xerox I was just offered and get more experience? If not what else can I prepare for as far as the interview goes? I am in the Northwest.

Appreciate the help folks.

What products do the specialty reps carry?

Good thread, and I agree with previous posters. Take the Xerox job, then move into device or capital equip after a few yrs. You'll have real sales #s then and will be more attractive to those companies (Stryker, Medtronic, etc)

Those are true "run your own business" jobs making 4x the money, and you won't even get an interview coming from pharma. They are looking for people with real sales experience and decision making ability. Even if you're the best salesman in the world, nobody would know if coming from Forest because you don't have the ability to make any decisions. They tell you who to see, what to say, when to eat, how many samples to leave, etc etc. Micromanagement at its finest. Sucks the soul right out of you.

Take the advice we all wish we had -- stay in true sales until you can get to capital / med device. The rest of us were so short sighted, we're stuck in pharma. Good luck.

Sounds like a quote for someone at Corporate rather than a field rep of any kind. You can rip on enterprise all you want, but I guarantee you never sold anything real like a stupid copier or a stupid anything. Your a stupid loser!
