If you want to keep you job...

How does anyone work when there is persistent fear of losing this income? benefits?
Fear kills more than disease.....management should recognize this--->but it is always the bottom line. Dog chasing the tail. Stuuuuuuuuuuuuuupid.

Might be time to start dusting off the resume if you are overcome with fear. Being prepared is a good thing. Getting an offer with a sign on bonus is even better.:) Keep the faith!

.....dont be the sharpest pencil in the box, some bosses are sooooo insecure.

Its the dumbing down of America. When I interview, I leave out the MBA on the resume and I have to dumb down the interview due to jealous managers with a 4 year degree from State College, that mostly drank during school hours.

Its time to move on and put away childish things, and pharmaceutical sales is very childish.

That is bullshit. There are plenty of sales jobs that provide the same income without being treated like a child.

NO THERE AREN'T. I WAS DIPLACED JAN 2010 NOW I AM MAKING 40,000 WORKING WAY HARDER THAN I EVER DID AT MERCK AND PUTTING UP WITH SO MUCH @#%^ FROM MY MANAGER IT REALLY SUCKS OUT HERE. I WOULD GIVE ANYTHINGTO BE BACK ATMERCK. YOU ALL DON'T KNOW HOW GOOD YOU HAVE IT.

Leave pharma! Most sales jobs do not micro manage. Most have double the bonus of pharma.

You're right, nothing exists in writing. No one has ever been terminated for not working between certain hours, otherwise the company is at risk for getting caught in the hourly wage trap. Reps are salaried with incentives and as such, there are no defined hours to be worked. You may be terminated for any number of other failures as well as of course, nothing at all! You are at will employees my friends and you better not ever forget that.

First - the no one has ever been termintated for not working between certain hours? That is so untrue - I have known reps who were called in to headquarters and then interrogated for hours about their first sig and last sig. HR and the mgr will look for anything to make a case and construct the termination reasons for "other" things. Just mother Merck doing what she does best - management by fear.

Truth is some people just can't stand bright lights...you know it. Glad you're still hangin in.

first signature and last signature?

I don't bel. you.

First, its against FDA to have a doctor sign, unless they actually need samples.

Second, a company can't fire you for not getting signatures. If signatures is the name of the game, then they should require it, but they can't because its an FDA thing.

You are full of shit.

but, I do agree that the see what we are doing. and if they don't like you, they can, can your ass easily.

against the FDA to get a sig. w/out a doc "needing" samples?
In what country?

Talk to most contract reps - they get paid by the signature, oftentimes for products that they have no samples for.

The verbage on the sig sheet is that the dr has acknowledged the receipt of information and/or samples.

You sir or madam, are misinformed.

First sig and last- time stamped on the computer is what they are looking for you dumbass. Against FDA regulations to get a sig for a doctor not there - of course it is against FDA regs. So what does the rep do who has to "prove" they are in the field and seeing the first doctor by 7:30 0r 8 a.m.? Doc isn't there or doesn't need samples so there won't be a sig. Hmmm - "left a reprint" "talked with the office staff ( this is the new commercial model, after all), talked with the PA, etc. etc.

You are right if the manager doesn't like you, then all those time stamps for early in the morning and late in the afternoon that are not phys sig but other entries will indeed get you in trouble and then fired.

Hey dumbass, my point is that you have good justification for not leaving samples in certain offices.

for example, why are you going to leave samples in an office that doesn't need them? You might because you are a dumbass. I am not.

So, if they want to "get me" for not getting a sig. before 10am and after 3pm, then F them. Go ahead.

I just don't see that. Never have, and I doubt I ever will.

But, you live in dumbass area, so you might see it.

later dumbass.

If you would have read the entire reply you would have understood that I agree not all doctor's offices need samples or in fact the doctor isn't there. My point is that you have to show you are on territory from 7:30 or 8 a.m. until at least 5p.m. My point was how do you prove you are on territory and engaging with the customer early in the morning or late afternoon. Obviously from your reply, you are the dumbass.

Take a chill pill and go rest - you sound like an angry person.

Another dumbass. Why do you have to prove anything? To keep your job?

Its not in the job description, dumbass.

If they don't need samples, they don't get them.

that is why dumbassesssss' like you are not good sales people, because you are more concerned about getting signatures, that prove you are "working", rather than sell anything.

I see your types all the time, and you can't even talk to the doctor. the office staff thinks you are a tool, which you are.

dumbass.
