IBU 2 Day Sales Class

Good point, we have DM, MC, MW and MS. One thing in common in their names, M. It stands for moron. Question is to rank them? Top Moron to bottom moron?

you forgot MR - StarWars not, we like to call him MR STD - no matter what you do, you cannot get rid of him. He is a little bit smarter then Sam Holt, a little bit taller, and doesn't talk as much as him.

Ratican are you fucking kidding me? We have nothing better to do than fly to Los Angeles and take 3 days out of the territory for some bull shit? You need to be fired. Mr. Hooper its time you take control of an out of control training department. What a fucking joke.

Don't worry. You are not invited.

Don't worry. You are not invited.

Why do you blame ratican? He has nothing to do with the decision, it's the GM and sales lead...maybe the problem is that both of them haven't sold shit to anyone in their lives. We have two leaders who have never done the job that they manage us to do so when they make decisions that make no sense blame them not someone in sales training.

I agree with the above poster. When you have a GM or leadership(less) people who have no sales experience making decisions you tend to get this type of outcome. A 2 days sales class (actually 3 for some when you incorporate travel) is completely worthless. This training could have been held via webex spread over a course of 2 weeks. This would have allowed reps to stay in the field and saved Amgen millions of dollars. This shows a complete incompetence in their ability to understand how to drive business/sales. We have gone from a company that understood what it took to be successful to one that gets in our own way of success. Now the debacle of partnering with Astrazeneca to bring to market 5 drugs shows we simply have lost our ways. Are you kidding me AZ? Yes we are big pharma and one day will be just like all of the big pharma companies will be laying off thousands. We are now just like them and look only at our short term financial statements in order to drive our own individual resumes. You out to be ashamed. Way to go you bunch of morons.

wait to you see the other changes in store, also with A/Z partnership expect downsizing across the board....these guys don't have a clue what they are doing. we are losing a shit-load of share across the business and all they can do is point to how the competition is doing more than we are, bunch of excuses and we're stuck with them as leaders. oh boy.

IBU will be disolved and the sales team will move over to the bhbu, will keep rh customers give drm customers to az. UCB is the next partnership, boy can we pick some winners.

Pfizer
AZ
UCB
BMS

yikes. Never thought that Howard Rosen would be considered a good marketing director.....wow

not sure where the HR comment comes from? he's in a global role for a product that at best is 5 years away and even if approved will generate modes sales. think sensipar in terms of peak sales. dead wrong on thinking for consolidation, it aint happening - in fact just the opposite. stay tuned and you'll see, expect growth versus contraction.

meaning that rosen was so bad, that even he looks good under the current leadership. surprised you were not able to gather that from the context, you must be a top performer in the IBU marketing team.

Under what leadership? I doubt you know who he works for and that you know anything about marketing. I sure as shit don't work in the IBU. Place is filled with a bunch of clowns and leaders who have never led anything and somehow find themselves now in charge of 3.5B in business. Apparently they will hire any dumb ass that applies so you should reach out.

All companies do the same thing. Personally I think it has to do with upper level management needing something to do so they come up with these genius ideas to have meetings and more meeting. So they can say they did something. Just have to play the game.

I agree with you. It's something to check off the list. All this could be done in one intense district meeting. The waste of money is insane. I realize Amgen is a publicly traded company but it reminds me of how our government wastes money on parties, meetings in Vegas as an example, etc. Seems ashame that so many pharma reps are out of work or worried about their job and these companies are spending money like water.

I tried to spend water the other day, it didn't work out for me. What is the exchange rate for it

Our gov't doesn't have parties and meetings in Vegas, what are you talking about. They waste money on welfare and taking care of the illegal aliens, but not parties.

Hey numnuts - what company that has a sales force doesn't have offsite sales meetings? I don't care what industry you are in, if you have a substantial sales force, you have National Meetings. If only the government watched spending like Amgen does on these meetings. One "intense" district meeting multiplied by every district gets pretty costly when you add it all up. And you do not get volume rebates on hotels, airfare, food etc.

Hey you fuck head, Amgen wastes money on these stupid fucking 2 days meetings. Not only is it a waste of money but an even bigger waste of time. These meetings do nothing but decrease moral. To fly people from all over the US to Los Angeles for essentially 13 hours of work is a COMPLETE joke. Please don't ever again say its all about reach and frequency. If it was you wouldn't have us waste 3 (Travel) unproductive days doing this bullshit. Peoples heads needs to roll. And just a correction for you numbnuts, although most companies have 1 (0ne) National Sales meeting which is usually a total of 4 days and 3 nights we have 2 stupid fucking meetings. Plus bullshit like this. I have never seen a company do shit like this. This is counterproductive. So fuck you to you

By the way numbnuts are you a travel consultant or a training manager? If you knew anything about travel or about productivity you would know that holding a meeting in Los Angeles is stupid. The loss of productivity (most reps take 2 days off) one on the way and one when they get home. The loss of productivity outweighs any perceived cost savings. But then again you arent smart enough to get it.
