The next head hunter that calls me and makes an offer worth my value. I am soooo out of this bad dream.

So long Genzyme/US Labs (or should I say Lab Corp) because that's exactly who we are.

I don't want to work with LC reps (they are ill prepared to have conversations with MY clients and yes they are MY clients. Just because they put an interface and printer in a lab doesn't make them competent reps.

Just because LC said they should go out a get $4M dollars of AP business doesn't make them specialty reps.

As Mr. Incredible said....go home Buddy, I work alone. That's exactly what I will be looking for in my next company.

Bye-Bye Lab Corp with you crap benefits, who the hell pays for a company car, I lost a week's vacation and I won't be able to retire until I'm 70 without company match.

I am certain I won't be missed until I go to a competitor like all the others and start taking your business.
 






All I have to say is you missed your chance when all of your buddies jumped ship to go to other labs and you decided to stay or you were not recruited by other labs.

Now it is too late and no one wants you so you might as well stay and be miserable.
 


















That really isn't true. It isn't too late to leave. If you were loyal enough to stick around that doesn't make recruiters uninterested. Plenty of opportunities out there. Some people just aren't jumping at the first offer.
 






Sounds like you have been speaking to recruiters from your post.
The funny thing about it is other labs are offering more money and better benefits than your current company. Guess you are full of BS since you could have jumped if other labs were actually speaking to you.
 






Wow, you haven't been in the workforce very long have you? Most companies, you have to pay for personal use on your company car. Legally, no company can provide a car and allow personal mileage without paying for it. That's not just sales or in lab business, that's even with police officers.

LabCorp does provide a company match. You get that regardless of whether you contribute or not. You also have Employee Stock Purchase program, which had you been a long time LabCorp employee, could pay off nicely seeing that stocks recently have been at an all time high.

But go find those greener pastures that all of your friends talk about. If you don't go to work for Quest, you will work for either LabCorp or Quest soon enough because the small guys won't be around much longer! Just look at the facts, Genzyme wasn't actually such a small company when they were sold to LabCorp. Their parent company saw that simply being a niche lab wasn't paying off. Others are finding the same as well.

Sorry to hear you are so unhappy, but look at the big picture before you jump ship. You may be better off looking for sales outside of Lab if you really don't want to work for LabCorp or Quest.
 






Quest and LabCorp are not the only players anymore...The paradigm is shifting, GE bought Clarient and Novartis bought Genoptix, these companies are now thriving, without the "do more with less" mentality....time will tell

First let me start by saying, no I am not new to the industry. Secondly, I have never been forced to pay a fixed amount for personal miles, they have always been reported. I do have a second car that I drive on the weekends and never spent $1200 in tax.

Regarding, working either at Quest or Lab Corp. I WOULD NEVER HAVE COME TO WORK FOR QUEST OR LABCORP if I wasn't bought and sold. And 2% company match is pathetic.
Enjoy staying at Labcorp when I am somewhere else doubling your salary.

I have bad news for you - if you work at Labcorp, you won't receive any calls from a head hunter. They consider Labcorp to be the toilet of the world. Not even Medical Sales. They figure if Labcorp hired you, then you are worhtless and pathetic.

Why are you so angry. Everyone has their choice whether they want to stay with a company or not. Just because your used to having minimal benefits/wages doesn't mean the rest of us through acquisition want to accept this. To each his own...

Look aquisitions are what you have to accept when you are a small company. The days of making lots of money are over Chump! So if you think you are so high and mighty you should be Pharma Rep and flit around like a jack ass selling crap. More over you should consider a taking up a job on a street corner hooking, now that's where you can make some big bucks!
 






Fact: Genz Reps were best in class and paid as such
Fact: LC has worse benefits
Fact: LC Hires best buy reps without college degrees
Fact: Genz has a respected name in industry
Fact: Genz will continue to be the best if left alone
Fact: LC reps bitch and complain because they are the bottom of the medical sales food chain and no one wants to hire them which is why they put up with the BS
