Huge Layoffs Coming in October 2024

It was a 3 week old article…thus the duh, you fucking moron. I think we had all gotten what was going on by then. Well, most of us, I guess.
I hope you are one of the people laid off. I cannot believe that J&J hires such nasty sales idiots. Or maybe you are just an outside troll. Go masturbate yourself. That’s what sales guys do.

Just found this post. Usually I come to this board and it's craptastic trolling but I scrolled through this entire thread and found a lot of true information about how the process works and how long it takes. Best of luck to all of the folks reading this board who were impacted in this round. It is gut-wrenching when it happens to you and you feel like you did everything right and put up with all of their BS and nonsense and politics year after year. Late nights, missed weekends. High performer. The inane trainings. The forced volunteerism. Badging into an office several days a week when you're far more productive without the distractions and commute. One job-justifying presentation after another to this leader and the next one. And in the end, none of that mattered. You still got the shaft.

Thankfully, I wasn't impacted this time. But I've been on both sides of it in recent times and I expect my job will be cut in the next 12-18 months when they do another round.

There is always another round later that comes after a major round like this one. It may not be both sectors/corporate and it will be much smaller, but it will come in late 2025 or mid-2026.

They can't help themselves.

As they line their pockets with gigantic stock bonuses year after year (Alex Gorsky left with 0.5B in stock), depressing the value of the stock further, they can't make the numbers work for increasing GP (gross profit) any other way than to cut discretionary budget and headcount to offset the losses that are coming. Stelara is the major one, but the Talc litigation is still not solved.

No one on Wall Street is buying what JD is selling because the numbers don't work and all the analysts and business media know it.

Go read the Q3 earnings call transcript from Oct 15. There is not a single word in it about reorganization, reduction-in-force, or layoffs. JT did do her traditional shout-out to all of her employees around the world, but failed to mention the several thousand of them who were suddenly time-limited at the company.

Yes but the shaft was etched with that sexy new J&J branding so there...
