Travel advisory letter recieved. Told to stay close to home for an important CVM announcement this week. In effect from Tuesday to Friday. I’m assuming that since I received this communication. I’m one of those affected. Might as well just stay home until I hear something either way.

What reason would there be a travel advisory for that kind of news though?

I heard CVM would be a part of these latest reductions. The process has started. I hope it’s not bad but all signs pointing to a culling. Got to make black rock happy!

Ummm, ok. Listen, if it was a new product they would just schedule a call. Not put everyone on a travel restriction for 4 days. It means they have to schedule separate calls for everyone in the sales force and they don’t want anyone to be hours from their home when they find out they’ve been laid off.

They did say “later this week.” I did have a training call scheduled initially for Thursday that was moved to Wednesday. Assuming Thursday and Friday will be the days.

So what factors are considered when they decide who gets laid off? Leaders don’t know almost any employee, so how are they making these decisions?

Factors are not revealed 99% of the time. Don't waste your time and energy trying to figure it out or predict. It isn't personal. It is spreadsheets and it is usually designed so that there isn't evidence of discrimination toward any demographic. Put your energy toward updating your resume and networking.

This happened in March 2023 for MedTech Digital. Told everyone not to travel and work from home the entire week. Proceeded to cut 90% of the team on a March 1. It might not mean you are affected. I wish you well.
