How many weeks per year of service?

If there is a lay off, how many weeks/year will I get for a severance? Thx

My last company paid the 60 days for the Warn Act and then 2 weeks for every year of service. For me,’it was a total of 36 weeks and plenty of time to land this job.

60 days for the Warn Act, then 12 weeks plus 3 weeks for every year of service, up to a maximum of two years paid.

After 30 years I got 2 years of severance, it was almost worth it

Was gonna say… 22 month of severance is almost once in a lifetime chance. Get 2 incomes for nearly 2 years. I’m almost tempered to say let me go.

How does severance work? You get the call, and then when is your last day? Are you out of the field after the call? Can someone explain what that looks like

You get the call and that is it. No more field time. You have to close out all expenses, close out storage unit and they will come for you fleet vehicle within a couple of weeks. You need to get all the pertinent sales data you need for future resume building. They will give you the option for career counseling and job search, which is useless, so plan to do it on your own or through a known head hunter agency. They may offer you retraining stipend, but it isn't enough to accomplish anything with unless you want to take a class in something you are interested in. Most Masters level classes may cost more than is offered. Make sure you get all important numbers you might need to contact HR, etc. down the road. Best to make a file with all the info sent to you because once you are gone, you are an island unto yourself.
