Bankrupt- too numerous to mention
Foreclosures- minimum 10% of layoff totally (even in modest homes)
Divorce- too numerous to mention, cheating by DM's & Reps rampant
(especially at national meetings, trainings)
Off Lable Selling -Check , Aliskren for diabetes ? LOL !!!!
Discrimination- Check , $430 million worth
Bribery/Fraud - Check , wait till this pandoras box is exposed
 






Losing a job is one of the most stressful life issues and as we know in today job market at almost 10% unemployment its challenging to find work.

in this industry with all other layoffs it is going to be extremely difficult to get employment in the pharma field.

Don't make light of people facing severe financial hardships. The most damaging is the loss of self esteem, pain both physical and mental, extreme stress and depression.

I know this because I was let go a few yrs back and it hurts. You worry on how it will effect your family and change your life in a negative way. No one likes to be kicked to the side of the road and feel useless.

Its sad the companies use this time of yr to cut employees. what ever happened to the real old fashioned holiday spirit? Now its all about GREED % PROFITS and piss on the little people.

If you are let go just keep your head up, fight the anger, stress, and negative issues and say you are a better person than NVS and push forward for your family and self

Novartis has the right to downsize it's own sales force. If they kept us on when it didn't make financial sence, that would be socialism. None of us would run our own business that way. With that said I can also understand where this post is comming from. Novartis chose instruct their managers to mistreat the majority of reps over the previous 2-3 years in an effort to force reps out and not refill positions. Many reps have looked for a new opportunity outside of Novartis during the previous 12 months, but realize the current economy has limited their options. In light of their recent efforts to find work, the constant beatdown from management, and potentially and likely loosing their job tomorrow, you have a perfect storm for feeling hopeless. Just realize that it is not all in your head. Novartis truly is a toxic environment and has caused you great stress. Consider yourself lucky if you actually do lose your job tomorrow. It is a blessing in disguise

branded drugs cost a lot to make initially (R&D, etc), then it's mostly pure profit for pharma companies. Welcome to your new reality: technical people with advanced degrees make (or should make) >100/year, not you; people who change the efficiency of a system make a lot of money, not you; physicians who save or vastly improve lives make a decent amount of money because they've trained their minds to think critically about situations, not you.

I like this answer. IMHO Novartis is very well known for harassment already in peaceful times. It's just part of their business model. They dont want to get this label though because they constantly need naive fresh flesh capable of drinking as much kool-aid as possible that can push things beyond the limits of ethics, moraity and the law. In any case, what I find surprising is that there are so many HR trolls posting in this thread trying to mitigate the disturbing question. Must be part of the perception management hypocrisy.
