Nobody got kicked out, idiot. If I want back in (not going to do it), I could easily make a phone call and it would be done...

but, I have moved along further. It is like the time I was playing in a chess tournament with an ex NFL QB/Hall of Fame player, a great...my buddy says to him: "hey, I played QB in high school". They Hall of Fame player looked at him with a smile: "I went a little bit further".

The joke is on you. You will get it as you get older. Or, you will remain in your current state of stupid!

What makes your story even more pathetic is that you keep hanging out here on a pharma board even though you are no longer in the business. Spending your time here bashing those of us that have been more successful, just sinks you to even further depths.

It is time for you to get over your butt hurt for getting kicked out and get help with your mental problems. Ranting on this board certainly isn't helping you as you are getting even more bitter every day.

I knew before I went in. It is just a game. Don't take the job seriously. Realize Pharma is not a career. Give them exactly what they want (+1), no matter what. If you can't do the job in 20 hrs a week, you are doing something wrong. Enjoy the time....enjoy the $$$ and decide what you really want to do. Just play the game...

There comes a point where there is no career!

I just can't stomach it anymore, but other companies are the same for the most part, except they don't have products that can kill people!

Products kill people all the time. More people die from obesity related diseases. People die from car accidents. People die from guns and knives. People are electrocuted. People die from alcohol. Try googling the leading causes of death and get back to me, skippy.

Big difference when you are promoting health, but your products kill vs. alcohol which is not promoting health, but a good time or guns and knives, which were created to control populations, not for self defense...and other hazards you mention.

When you learn to make a better argument, get back to me.

We know you hate your pill pushing job but love the money. I get it. But, the truth is the truth. I just hope your field rides and annual evaluations are not too stressful.

In all sincerity, I do you hope you don't give them too much of your life, these pharmaceutical companies...because they will suck the life out of you. Don't let them do it. Don't let them get you to think that they are the best or that the company you work for and the products you sell are so great. Just present the information and move on. Because there will be a time that you will get kicked to the curb...and they will not miss a beat, because there are tons of dummies out there they don't know the truth about the pharmaceutical industry and would jump at the chance. Be grounded in your message and don't pay too much attention to what your manager says, as managers in the pharmaceutical industry are among the worst human beings on this planet.

But, the money is good. Can't blame you. But, there are better situations out there if you look and are not afraid of work.
Leave this industry to those that don't want to challenge themselves and want to settle. If you want more money and more professional respect,then look for something better.

The truth I am trying to refer to...is how easily this industry dumps motivated and producing sales reps..and could care less about them and their live. They will let you go, even though they have made billions for the year.

The lack of loyalty is chilling, and breeds a culture of back stabbing and a cult like organization...never mind that most offices think you are a dork.

It is easy to see that your feelings were so hurt after getting dumped that you have to take out all that bitterness and rage on the industry, when, instead, you should have worked on improving yourself in order to recover. Your sour grapes attitude will only lead to your further deterioration. You need to find a ways to deal with it, so that you can at least salvage something of your life and attempt to become a real provider for your family.

Hi All,

I have 18 years in pharma. For my family and I it was the best job ever! I never thought I would stay this long. I HATE what I do for a living...and I really don't know how much longer I can go on. Back in the day I was sooo gung-ho! and felt I really made a difference. That was when offices were more freely open...Problem now is I have myself totally convinced that I am incapable of doing anything else. Some days I can call bullshit on that type of thinking but the comfort of the job stops me from moving on. Truth is, I can see in every area of my life that I am not going to change until the pain of the situation forces me make a move. I think I am getting close. Would anyone mind sharing what industry you moved into post-pharma? Thanks!!
