How is the new Biotronik US leadership doing?













The NW is a bust overall with few bright spots. GG and crew has moved some business in Oregon but N. CA, WA and MT are a disaster. Yet we keep throwing money at it by continuing to hire BSC castoffs (just hired another in WA).

Most of the NW team's guarantees expire in April. We'll see who makes it then.

Arent their contracts for 10 years?
 












Contracts are 10 years (straight commission) but their gurantees are for 2 years. Let's see how long they last when they have to rely on their results.

And we know how well biotronik honors their contracts!

These guys are toast.

And where will they go?

Boston? Haha. They burned bridges that didn't even exist.

St Jude? DN will make sure that'll never happen.

Medtronic? Why recruit people that didnt take any business!

Sorin? I dont think they will touch them. Its their only option.
 






The nw have screwed over the tenured reps completely and it will not be forgotten. They made enimies in their own backyard as well as their neighbors.

So, thank you for your allowing us insight, in case there was any doubt, about how long time Bio sales reps are viewed by the newbies. Yet what leadership school of thought advocates destruction of the current structure, because "we're better"? Leadership means building a better team, by example and your superior skills. Instead by stealth your first victims are the most loyal to the company. When are the guarantees up?

We will wait until Spring when all of your guarantees are over. Your only income will be that siphoned off the efforts of the pre-existing Bio reps. Yeah, I guess you could call that success.

1) There is no leadership in BIO anymore. Dan S acts only as a governor and has no leadership skill or ability at all. He is simply using canned corn to try and feed the company for their loyalty.
2) These competitive recruits all believe they are the magic ticket and will turn the corner for BIO. Yet few have actually performed to the level that was promised, and more than half are a complete disaster. The MDT hires are the worst in this regard in that, much like Dan S, they are all empty shells interjecting criticism and half baked ideas but lacking any type of execution and follow through then blaming everyone else for their problems. Most of that blame is pointed at the loyal and historically successful people in BIO simply because they have played well outside the box and can expose the emptiness inside the corporate MDT shells.
3) Management is simply going through predictable playbook material and offer nothing new or invigorating to anyone that has seen it before. The plan is make BIO look and feel like either BSC or MDT. From marketing, to sales, to people management - it's not new, and it's not working to get BIO moving forward.
4) Moral and enthusiasm has evaporated over the past year in this company. This will cause the successful to look elsewhere in 2011 which will destroy plans to eliminate the unsuccesful. Good productive people will be leaving while the bottom feeders become further entrenched and keep BIO from shifting public perception.

At least one bright glimmer at BTK management is with the Fellows Division lead by Pat Newton. He is the best, he set the bar for fellows educational programs. He is dedicated to the cause and is a fine leader of men. I hope Pat can lead the entire company someday. Bravo Pat Newton!

Things must be going poorly for Pat N. for him to start posting his own plugs! Seriously, Pat N. has done a fine yet predictable job in his position. Pat is ok, but certainly not exceptional. We both worked at Bos, and his accomplishments there were more visible. At the time the program was new, and he had the power of the name behind him. Nothing is new here. The program is new to Biotronik, but he lacks foresight, and thus nothing is new or inspiring with the program. he has job security for now, but as new people are groomed for his position, it will be easy for Biotronik to send him packing with in the next couple of years. Pat is ok, but he is running on fumes of his past accomplishments. He will never run Biotronik, and he will not run the fellows program beyond 2012. Sorry Pat.

Dont fret, the fellows think Bio is a joke just like everyone else does. They go to the meetings and the attendings and faculty bring them back to reality and clue them in when they come back. Any starving and poor fellow will go to a meeting for free booze, hook up with their old colleagues and network for jobs. The BSX system of buying fellows business is outdated being scrutinized by our friends. Isnt it interesting that the speakers and luminaries speaking for pat dont use Bio? The only ones that do are at the DTT's where CDs lecture on electrophysiology? Bios base of business is sadly and always will be based on multiple streams of revenue as well as personal relationships because of the business model theyve had in place for years. Too bad, their products are better than most.
