Welcome to Novartis people! This is the way we do things, goals that are so unrealistic that you can't make bonus! Sometimes it is better to work for a company that has an ok product, but realistic goals. After all, this is a job, nothing more...Why not work for a company where you can make bonus money and obtain compensation for our hard work! 500% increase to meet your target bonus makes you feel like working real hard doesn't it???
Many reps realize it is not possible to achieve these unrealistic goals. Two in my region have told their manager that they have given up and are actively pursuing new jobs and the manager is 100% supportive. All I can say a launch year of a potential multi-billion dollar product and the reps are making $12k-$15k in yearly bonus. How many million of dollars in 2011 will NVS lose in 20% of the reps give up? It is most likely 40% threw in the towel.
