How about that zero payout?

Aren't you the sweetest thing!

"mediocracy" isn't even a typo - you really think that is a word.

Today, of all days, be thankful this is an anonymous site.

Oh yea the spell checker is in the house taking names and kicking that ass. Please please spell checker go easy on me. Guess since you don’t make any bonus and you can’t find another gig….. spell checking gives you a purpose.

why do abls assume everyone wants to be an abl? Narcissistic abls are part of the culture and leadership problem here. The abls in my regoin are the middle children who always need attention.

Exactly! I worked as an ABL for years at another company and I would rather lose a toe than ever be in that role again. Absolutely awful

Apologies, didn’t realize that ABL was the only manager or leadership position for the field.
There’s really nothing wrong with knowing you’re good at sales and enjoying being a salesperson. Unless you work at Novartis, where the company will do what it can to prevent make sure you don’t enjoy it.

At least your boss is not telling you that you’re incompetent and that’s why your payout is $0? I’m not being rude or funny to you—- that is something I’ve been hearing some ABLs tell their people.

In some cases they are probably correct.
There are a lot of high-performing reps who have carried the lion share of the syringe-load who have received $0 payouts.
There are also lazy, useless scrubs who have received $0 payouts.
The good ones will go, the scrubs will ride it out.
The third group of reps, the ones who haven't sold a handful of syringes but they have consistently cashed huge bonus checks, are the ones the ABL's should be concerned with.
There are a lot of them, and they apparently skate by because someone in their district is dragging them along.

Mine doesn’t outwardly tell us we’re incompetent, but he definitely alludes to that in the constant “upskilling” verbiage. Meanwhile, our team had a decent payout, thanks to me being the top producer. Does my manager give me any credit? Yeah, no, just lots of talk about what skills I need to improve.

Why subject yourself to such a poor working environment? Have you not tried to get other jobs? Let them hire 25 year old rookies that’s on them. I do t get why people like you except that BS ?

I’ve answered this question before. Novartis offers really great overall total compensation when you add in all the time off we get - vacation. Personal, sick days, paid care time, bereavement and all the company holidays. When you shop other companies most of the total comp doesn’t come close. Add in the fact that many companies are taking away any form of retirement benefits and just offering 401 K while Novartis still has the defined contribution benefit in addition to 401 k. If you have a chunk of time invested here it’s hard to walk away from. Believe me I am looking it just has to be the right for before I walk away from all that I have here. Handcuffed

As a salaried employee at the company I think this statement would have been true 5 years ago. With how much our STI/bonus has been slashed these last 4 years, and how low our merit increases have been, our compensation package is hardly competitive anymore.

Sure our paid time/vacation/holiday time is great, but it's fairly in line with the top 10 pharma companies. Many are now offering banking holidays + end of year shut down.

Our 401k/DCRP is great. Especially DCRP for 45+ in the company. The DCRP portion vests at the end of the year though. It is not uncommon to see 9% match in pharma. Does a Bonus/Salary that is 15% lower offset the 2-3% more our DCRP pays? Not sure when you calculate the fact that likely you will not get a year of DCRP when you leave because it only vests at the end of the year.

No, you are just too lazy to look elsewhere.
Total comp absolutely comes close across the industry, and in many cases it is better.
Waiting for the right offer makes sense, but operating under the delusion that Novartis benefits are vastly superior won't do you any good.
If you are in C.R.M. you are probably falling behind industry standards because payouts are egregious, even when you get one.

All of this is true. Crm is a great place to stay if you are trying to hang on for retirement or as of this year get a few years of job experience. It’s also decent for people who don’t want to work hard and are ok with a meager payout. If you want to be paid & work towards a real goal -this is not the place for you. I cannot believe how low we have sunk. I can’t believe the leqvio payouts people get for doing nothing. Novartis doesn’t know what a team is. I can’t understand how anyone in leadership still has a job after the leqvio launch. 2 years later there is barely any strategy or support.
