Hours and wages lawsuit settled for $99 million

Just spoke with the law firm and there is many equations on what people are going to get. It goes back to court in May and then most likely will be appealed.... The money wont be seen for atleast 1-2 years....

Its, settled stupid. You cant appeal a settlement. You must be a manager. Letter came today. Close to $9,000/year. If you made over $100,000 you will be eligible for about 50%.
Read todays mail you'll see

The other poster is correct. This is settled. End of May, judge approves and you should have your check within 30 days

Well, I had my notice when I arrived home tonight:

I never opted in the original suit - but was employed from 2002 - Mid 2010. The letter I got today identifies me as part of the class employed for at least one day from January 25, 2009 - January 25, 2012 - which is correct.

How Much Can I Expect to Receive?

Hypothetical settlement amounts are listed on Page 6 and under that plan they look like this:

One year, making less than $100k: Approx $1440
One year, making more than $100k: Approx $720
Two years making less than $100k + one year making more than $100k: Approx: $3600

I sure hope those who signed in to the earlier part of the program do a whole lot better than that.

Law firm will request $400k costs and compensation up to 30% of the $99 Million, plus $170k in costs to administer settlement. The lawyers win again.

No, to above California poster. You can only fall into one category. You will only get the money entitled for the 2000-2007 period, not for the latter period. Just read the letter again. Those in the 09-12 period get $1440 per year. You had to opt in if not residing in Cali or NY regardless of what grouping you are in.

To above poster-- so if u worked in Cali from
Early 2005 to end of 2010. What category r u in? I don't have letter
Yet but it seems as though u know what you're talking anout

What about the people that originally opted in years ago (Not Ca or NY)? Does it say how much per year those people get? Or is it the same amounts?

My letter was specifically tailored to the 2009-2012 class and didn't discuss the other classes except to mention those who were deposed and/or testified would be up for extras from $20k - $40k each.

Just Sign the damn paper and return it. You all are making a big to do about nothing. This was a lawsuit that YOU had nothing to do with. It is essentially a win-fall. Don't worry about what reps in other states are doing or getting. Follow the instructions on YOUR letter and keep it moving. The folks who filed the lawsuit were the ones that stepped out and got this whole lawsuit started. (they could have been mistreated and deserved to take action) The instructions on the letter are simple, fill out and return if you would like to opt in. Stop thinking you now the law and can somehow beat the system (again) by somehow having an argument that you deserve more.

on the documents it states in section
2.4 California settlement sub-class I Eligibility period means March 23, 2002 through April 7, 2007

2.5 "california settlement sub-class I payment and release mean March 23, 2002 through the final approval date.

Am I reading this wrong or does it state that we will get payment from March 23, 2002 through jan. 2012?
